The starting screen looks lovely - definitely dig the style (solid colour atlas texturing for the win!)

I couldn't progress further than that screen unfortunately... The standard keyboard keys weren't letting me "join", and my Xbox controller didn't seem to register button presses at all in the game. Not sure if it was something on my end or not, but after a few minutes of no buttons appearing to do anything I had to give this one a close :(.

Great work on what I have seen in the screenshots and start screen though! As well as what others are mentioning in comments below :).

This game was pretty fun, it was funny honking at the people littering on the ground. The art style and the music works really well together too, great job for the keyboard input and the support for controller input for a 2 week game jam, great work!

Thankyou so much ^-^ I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The graphics and player movement are excellent and the music is charming. Honking at people and hearing their reactions is hilarious. Also seeing some of the rubbish flying around like it's possessed made me laugh.

Picking trash up felt a bit slow and some of the controls are a bit hard to understand (and took a couple of presses to register). It might be good to have the controls somewhere on screen or in a pause menu. A play again option would also be nice as opposed to having to quit out after every match.

Overall I like this game a lot.

I had to update my xbox controller to get it to work properly.

Awsome some really good feedback, thankyou so much ^-^

I couldn't fully experience the game as I couldn't connect with a PS4 controller, but I was able to chase some poor Aussies around with the keyboard controls. Very cool.

Developer

A few people have had problems with PS controllers which is weird because it's using unity's new input system which should accept all controller types... very strange!

love the cartoon style so much! pretty cute game!

It has a cute art style, and I felt a little confused at the beginning as to what my mission goals were, but once I got used to using the controller I found it to be a very fun game!

it's like Untitled Goose Game but a PVP collectathon. nice art style but controls can be confusing even with the diagram at the start. I was unaware that you had to hold the join button to join. Great game once you understand what to do.

Controls threw me initially but impressive that you can use a controller with it, really cute art style!

Played with my PS5 controller!

The movement felt nice and responsive; it took me a while to figure out the mechanics but after getting the hang of it I had a lot of fun! The color palette was fit the overall vibe and felt easy on the eyes; great work team!

PS. I loved the stretched image of the bin chicken on the game page XD

We forgot to add this to the game, but there are key keyboard controls for anyone who does not have a controller or a controller that works with the game. Hope this helps some of you try out our game. ^-^

This game seems so charming even from the main menu! Sadly I couldn't play it because my controller wasn't recognised :( I've got a 8 bit do ultimate so it should be recognised as an xinput controller but sadly no dice :(

Developer

Sorry to hear this.  we only play-tested it with Xbox controllers bc that's all we had, hopefully, the guys at Ubisoft have some Xbox controllers lying about. >~<

I couldn't connect to the game. I pressed the correct button at first but it didn't work so I just button mashed and it still didn't work. I'm using a PS5 controller and I it was connecting as steam was responding to it. I won't rate it as it might be my fault and that would be unfair to you guys. I'm try again in a couple days. Just wanted to let you guys know in-case any else has this issue.

Developer

That's a shame! I myself don't have a PS5 controller to test with but I was able to play with my Nintendo Pro controller and Xbox controller.

Might of been the PS5 controller then. Sadly that's the only controller I have. I'm sure the games great, it looks amazing from the pictures!

Bin Chicken Bonanza has all the makings of a great party game, boasting catchy music and a charming art style to set the mood. However, my experience was limited to navigating between the menu, game, and end scene with M, P, and L keys, without being able to play. Despite this setback, I found myself captivated by the infectious music—I actually have the game on right now just to enjoy the catchy tunes while writing this review.

Thanks for your kind feedback! Sadly we didn't have time to fully adapt the game to keyboard controls, and there were some debug commands left in the game - oops!
