Simple but yet an interesting idea. Good job

Thank you for playing! :)

Wow, this was great! The combat felt polished and surprisingly balanced! The art and music also go really well together: I felt immersed in the story even though this style isn't my thing usually :O

I think my favorite part is the little animation June does when they're just standing there :P, very cute!

Thank you for playing, and the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I ended up putting way more time into this than I planned to, but I feel like it payed off. :)

Kudos to Facemelting Solos (credited in game and on the game page) for the music, he made a killer OST in a short amount of time!

You did a great job with this game! There's a tremendous amount of polish for a jam game and it was pretty intuitive off the bat. Incidentally, trying to figure out if enemies get a turn while you're picking actions is a tricky problem to solve correctly!

The only thing I found tricky was trying to understand the quick time events in battle. I wasn't always sure what to click or when. The background painting with movement instructions was a great idea and for the most part things "fit" naturally.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I went for a "pause time" style battle system in the end, though I had considered the other option too.

I appreciate your feedback on the quick time events! That was a tough one teach the player easily. If I had more time, I probably would have included a tutorial battle right as you enter the first painting to teach the player the characters' movesets.

I have played this game and Damn how good the art is (I include music) Storyline is great (a bit too much text) and game play could use a little change (Enemy Hp bars, Crit? , zone damage? , More damage?) (The ? means this is a suggestion based on turn based games in general) Also Hello Construct 2 game maker :P (We should make a game sometime)

Else Good job on the game

Thanks so much for playing, and thanks for the feedback! I spent quite a bit of time on the art, glad you enjoyed it! The music is by Facemelting Solos, who made an original soundtrack and SFX for this game. There are links to his page and twitter on the main game page if you want to check out more of his stuff!

Glad you enjoyed the story, despite the mass of text. I was worried that there was too much, so I'll keep that in mind for future projects. As for the other RPG elements, I reeaally wanted to add some of those, especially leveling, but the time just got away from me. About halfway through the jam I had to make a choice... finish the game without those elements, or lose my sanity. I'm still here typing, so I guess I chose my mental health, haha.

Go Construct 2, yeah!! I love this program. Started using it to teach high school students game design, and fell in love with it.
