A lot of juice on this one. The idols feel heavy with the SFX and their physicality, the little guys dancing even though they are planting bombs on people as in an authoritarian and desensitized government -- or maybe I'm imagining things? Props to you either way! Great work!
nice concept and execution ....not a big fan of mono colors ..because i get confused what is what ....but that's my bad ...nice game for the jam!
Building idols grant you 1000 points but make the game much harder because they block you, but don't seem to do anything to the enemies. That's cool because if you want a higher score, you're gonna have to make the game harder.
It's also interesting how your health is tied to how many troops you have. So the less health you have, the easier it is to dodge because of the smaller hitbox.
Lovely game :)
I'm happy you were able to notice those little details! That was basically the core idea/gameplay loop I was going for when I started but because of the time limit couldn't FULLY flesh out as much as I would've liked.
Usually I'd spend the first day or so just writing stuff down on paper and figuring out the balance/scoring but this time since I started last minute I just kind of threw it all in and crossed my fingers:) Hope the game wasn't TOO difficult over all!
Nice clean colour palette 1 bit characters are great. I thought it was a Noughts and crosses game at first, ha.
Wish I could have shot instead of mines though :)
Nice work.
