Really enjoyed the movement. Didn't figure out how to use the tongue though.

Developer

thanks for trying it! the tutorial didn't end up as good as i wanted it, so i get why you wouldn't understand it
if you wanna give it another try, the tounge attaches to the bugs that are highlighted with a pink hexagon (detection area is around the top of the screen to the middle of it), then you hold shift to attach, when you let go of shift, it let's the tounge go
also while grappling (and while in air regularly) you can still add velocity to swing higher and farther

Reminds me of GOPOGO. 10/10 game but the camera controller falls short. Its awesome to see such a nifty 3D scene thats so cute and simple. I would honestly continue this project, fix the camera controller, add some more color to the scene and make it multiplayer with rag doll collisions

Developer

glad you enjoyed it, and yea the camera controller is a tad bit weird, left fixing and polishing it along with some smaller things like the handling of the falling, to the end of my time, but due to some hardware issues, i had to cut the development short with around 20-30 mins still remaining

if i do a post jam version, i will for sure try implementing the stuff people said, because they are all great ideas

Hard to understand the best jump timing but it's a nice die frog and retry game aha

Developer(+1)

i love the description "die frog and retry" haha

adding some more indications to the jumping was planned (idea was a line that shows how high the jump goes, along with tilting the camera up), but had some hardware issues, and had to cut my time short with 20-30 mins remaining, so a ton of polish and QoL things were left as just ideas
if i do a post jam update, i will add them for sure

Fun game! Cute Frog!

Found some skips since the little islands on the scenario have collision hehehe

Nice little rage game.

Developer

Glad you had fun :D

Really nice little game. I don’t know if it was intentional but the camera kept spinning which made it extra hard (web build on Firefox).

Developer

The camera always tries to smoothly look in the direction of the velocity of the player, but it spinning wasn't intended lol
i didn't fine tune the speed enough, so that might be why it happens

I think it might be that the game window in the browser isn’t capturing the mouse properly.

Visuals are great! Maybe I would add some smoke when you land after a jump or some kind of feedback (waves would be great). It’s hard to master though

Developer

Some feedback particles and other polish things like screenshake where on my todo list, but at around 30-20 minutes left, my mouse decided to just go haywire and stop registering inputs, only coming alive for a minute or two then dying again, so i had to cut it short (also why falling off just throws you back at the start without any fade or transition)

But if i do a post jam polished version, i will add them for sure!
