seems like the golden age of flash games has returned..? really needs an aim marker, or a shadow of where you’re dragging the cube from, something like that. otherwise i love it

Got me addicted to playing this more times that I wanted to. Since this is a mouse based application, after I played and failed, I need to move the mouse to click on the button the restart and again reposition the mouse to move the sugar cubes. This message (if you have only one button to retry) can be a timed box that automatically displays the message and disappears after 3 or 5 seconds. Or you can simply provide an option to dismiss the box using the keyboard instead.

The on-screen reset button was thrown in last minute to address problems I didn't have time to figure out, to keep the player from having to refresh the page. I do like the idea of hiding it with a keyboard button though! Thanks for the feedback, and for playing!

It was really exiting when the sugar and tea packs fell just right in the cup. Also pretty cool to have multiple levels . My sugar cubes seem to disappear when I accidentally drag them out of the screen, but besides that really good entry.

What music plays in the background? I really like it :D.

I considered ways to prevent the cube from going offscreen, but ultimately decided to just put a reset button in to address that and other issues for the sake of time. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

The music track is from the Positive and Calm Orchestral Music Pack (I believe by AndySV on GameDevMarket).

Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

The absence of aiming help makes the game quite challenging but it is really good otherwise !

Developer

I do plan on addressing that in an update, but I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

The game looks really good. Loving the pixel art and the choice of music. If you continue to work on this I would add some sound effects for the colliding objects as well as splashing sounds for dunking tea bags and sugar cubes into the teacup. Idk if this was intended but it seems that you can pass levels perfectly by knocking only one tea bag and one sugar cube into the tea cup. It makes some of the levels much easier to complete. Also I think it would be a good idea to have a visual indicator showing how you are drawing back the cube. It could be as simple as a line from the starting point to the pulling point but it would help with aiming the cubes. All in all this was a really fun game!

There are a number of things I wanted to implement, but just didn’t have the time. I’ll definitely try to update it when the jam is over. SFX for sure…I had some SFX started, but threw it on the back burner because I couldn’t find just the right sounds to use.

I had intended for the multiple tea bags to be a requirement to pass levels, but I think ScalphaMission’s suggestion it could be linked with a star system would be a better way. For a jam game, I’m actually glad I didn’t make it a requirement. Definitely would’ve produced frustration for the player!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Once you figure out how the cube shooting works (instructions could be definitely clearer), it's actually pretty fun. And it also got several levels! One of the better entries, imho.

Developer

I’ll update the front page so the instructions are a bit clearer. Glad you enjoyed it though! Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!
