I don't know whether  it's intentional, but since I bought the Cirno upgrade last, the game just credit rolled right away without letting Cirno shine at all. That's just so funny haha
Now I just need to find a way to delete "Mystia_bgm_core_loop.ogg" lel

Developer(+1)

Adding Cirno to the game started as an inside joke about how she'd have a friction stat of 0 cause she's an ice fairy. How much sense that actually makes wasn't really important, but that's why we decided to just make it end the game. Congrats on getting all the upgrades though! Our musician also had some trouble deleting .ogg files. We brushed it of as an issue with his computer since nobody else had that problem. Hope you were able to resolve it!

this game is so peak holy shoot. theres even a dynamic music system????????????????omg. LOOK AT THIS BWT WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Developer

Thanks for sharing your score! 51 runs? That's some dedication! The dynamic music system had pretty high priority from the start, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I played the game for forty minutes to max out upgrades and everything. Progression was just as addicting as standard learn to fly, and the presentation was great. But then, I shot the ball backwards to try to reset my run, and (this is not a joke) MY COMPUTER CRASHED. This has been a transcendent experience that I enjoyed thoroughly, and that was just the perfect way to end it. One of my favorites from the jam, fantastic job.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! When you say your computer crashed, are we talking blue screen level crash? If so, that sounds odd. I honestly don't see how the game would cause that on its own. As of now we're not even aware of any bugs that should be causing crashes at all. We'll investigate shooting backwards a bit more, but any information that could help the investigation would be highly appreciated!

Started out kinda slow but I quickly enjoyed the feeling of buying all those upgrades and seeing how much farther you get. Nice bird orb (borb) action and a hell of a way to do the credits too

Developer

Thanks! I wanted the start to be slow so the difference after you get some upgrades would be more extreme. I might have overdone it a smidge. We had a lot of fun with the credits! It'll probably be low priority, but I'll put looking into the start of the game on my todo.

Ayo, freaking cool flight sim. It captures entirely the vibe of Learn to Fly, just like the others below said!
Although the "events" (aka the things your bird bumps into) and the bombs/1up mechanic reminded me more of Katawa Crash, which is a pretty good compliment too.

Truly, high quality time, bird of approval.

Developer

Thanks! Didn't know Katawa Crash was a thing before you mentioned it. I am familiar with the source material, so my reaction was quite something when I found out it was exactly what it sounded like. Might have to play it since you say there's similarities.

this is awesome. toss the touhou (i attempted this once it wasnt as good)

i got 1.59 million on my best okuu attempt before cirnoing out

looks great. many upgrades. go very fast

Developer

Thanks! I'll have to give your game a go then! It would be interesting to see your take this type of game as well. Even if you say it wasn't as good, I'm sure I could learn something from it. "Many upgrades" and "go very fast" were indeed two of my biggest priorities when writing the code for this ;)

I need need need an ending scenario that praises me on my efforts, or even better, gives me a sick burn if I took too many tries... in true Learn to Fly fashion. Man, what an inspiration.

Developer(+1)

Haha! We can probably add some comments to the start of the credits depending on how you did. I'll admit, it's been a while since I played a game of this type, so I didn't remember Learn to Fly doing that.

I played games like learn to fly a lot as a kid, this entry made me feel really nostalgic in the best way possible

the gameplay was very solid and i had fun trying to get as many points as i could

there's not much to say really, you nailed the aspects of ltf style games without any flaw

Developer(+1)

It really means a lot to hear that come from someone that clearly enjoyed the games that made this genre what it is! Thanks!

This game looked simple and barebones at the surface but the more i played the more features became available and the more insane every throw of the birds got. When i got to the point where i regularly got the events on the map (the bouncy thing, the wind birds, and yuuka) it got to the point where it just seemed to be flying endlessly. Yuuka's sprite in particular is amazing. My highest score is 5,291,690. Very awesome game. it would be cool if this was ported to mobile as well i would unironically play this on my phone

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! What if I told you there's a reason the game is controlled entirely with left click?
