after running around to sus out all the clickable things, I put two and two together pretty fast. I'm glad that the first thing that came to my head with the feather was the right thing lmao. pretty fun! (but if it were up to me everyone would have stayed bears :bear emoji:)

Polar bear Cirno. Bearmu. Marursine. Bearkuu. Ursuika. How did you even tell yourself "Hmmm today I'll turn 2hus into bears" lol. missed opportunity for panda meiling

Solved the puzzle on my own in like 30 minutes. It's pretty nice.
Lots of useful and fun text. The game looks fantastic with the charming style! Loving how the shadow serves as a clock.
But Mokou was just there I guess? Let me check the solution... Oh that's because she's part of another chain of solution. Nice. But also, I'm apologizing to Mokou for not seeing how she could contribute outside of the lantern, which was more extra steps than Nitori's torch as a light source...
- Even if the player's a Touhou fan, maybe it would be nice to have Mokou *clearly* state what she can do - something like "Do you want to see my fire tricks? They can crack rocks open too!". Because lugging a heavy rock all the way to the fire girl is just, not an idea I'd have in mind at all - especially when I discovered the miracle of Bear Lung-Powered Nuclear Sneeze™.

Wondering why we rewinding too. I like to think that there's a timeline where CIrno just manages to fix the incident without knowing anything prior. (A bit even like how a certain shrine maiden just *solves* things) To the player it's playthroughs in retrospective, but to Cirno she just, knows. That, or she sees the future. oh no, i just thought about ice fairy with king crimson

Anyway, time with chimken and Shanghai is time well spent.

Cute little puzzle game. Got it on my 4th or 5th run. I like all the character portraits, they're so cute. And I was surprised that the solution i thought of worked.

Although some of the parts of the forest and the beach are unwalkable? I assume it's because they are areas that don't lead anywhere, but maybe add some kind of indicator for these areas?

Also, the walking is a bit tiresome. If there were a feature for autowalking (for example, right clicking in a direction will keep cirno walking in that direction until she hits a collider) would help a lot in that. Or maybe just make the map a little smaller or walking speed a bit faster.

I'm mixed on the time aspect. If there were an explanation for it in the story of the game i'd be more inclined for it, but it also didn't really affect me much since i figured out the solution pretty quickly. But my presuccessful run ended right as i was holding the last item for the game. Perhaps add an option to disable it? A timer would also be fun, would add some kind of speedrunning element to the game.

A pause feature would also be good, since my successful run i ran out of time just as i was holding the last item to end the curse and running for my life to end it, and my laptop suddenly gave me a notification for low battery.

Hey! Thanks for playing!

I've made it so that there's a 20-second grace-period when holding the tome so that you can't lose right at the end.

I forgot to adjust some of the movement things for this build but will improve it for the next one.

Thanks again!

The loop reminds me of a certain space game. If you approach the game knowing that you’ll have to play through it multiple times then that mechanic is fun. I think an in-game explanation for the loop would be nice (maybe Patchouli cast a last-minute spell?).

The art is very cute, the music is lovely, and the day-night cycle with ambient sounds (bird singing fading into insects and nocturnal birds) is pretty neat. I also had fun figuring out the multiple solutions for the puzzles.

After beating it I wanted to do a run using all items but got softlocked right at the end when I was going to pick up the last item (in the web version). It didn’t happen during normal play though, but I mention it just in case you plan to clean up more possible softlocks later on (edit: I don't think the softlock was related to picking up all items, but rather to trying to swap items / pick an item too quickly)

Thanks for playing!

I'm still looking into that particular softlock. I'm also still chasing down some random things.

Thanks again,

Tell me how to solve it! I can't open box and check small hole!

I can't break the stone!That makes fun decrease a lot !!!

Developer(+1)

There are two ways to break the stone and two ways to open the lockbox — 🔥, 🪶, 💥 .

If this doesn’t help— I’ve added a file called “SOLUTION.txt” to the downloads that contains most of the interactions in the game.

Good luck! Thanks for paying! :)

I got it, thanks a lot!  the bear is really cute, I will vote five stars!

That chicken soft-lock should be much harder to do now but it's still possible. I removed some unnecessary colliders. Still trying to play around with the movement speed stuff-- did you play webgl or windows? (in some cases the movement speed depends on platform for some god forsaken reason)

Thanks for playing! : )

Overall, it was fun and cute, but the game would just be better without any kind of time limit. Imo, all the time limit does is punish the player without any reason, especially since you can't complete the game in one run without prior knowledge. Nothing unbearable though.

I also got a softlock as well. In my case it was after opening the chest, Cirno became unable to move. Only happened once though.

Developer

Hi! Thanks for playing!

The chest softlock should be fixed-- it was caused by the character controller attempting to open the chest after it already had been opened.

While you make some valid points about the timer, I feel like removing would undermine the point of the game and how it relates to the themes of this jam. I really appreciate the feedback though!

Thanks again,

Tried it again after figuring out the element I was missing. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving everyone in that form.

Really nice entry. Music and art both fit very well, and the puzzles make sense. A lot of roughness in the mechanics, but I'm all for jank in a jam entry.

The 5 minute limit feels somewhat punishing, as you end up having to do the loop of walking to the same places and performing the same interactions many times before you can figure out the solution. I also came close to running out of time even when I had everything mapped out. I also managed to bug out the chimken a few times and softlocked a run.

Developer

I'll increase the walking speed to make the ruining in circles slightly less annoying. Chimkin, interactions and some jank also on list to fix.

The music is scored to be exactly 5 minutes so I'm hesitant to increase the time but will consider it after other adjustments are made.

Thanks for playing!

Cirno couldn't do it without your help!

Fixed the clicking issues, most of the webgl audio and some of the interactivity jank. Tested the optimal path-- takes 4 minutes (out of the 5) to do. I think this is acceptable :3.

"Can you help Cirno save everyone from being trapped in bear-form?"

No,  no I can't. After 10 or so attempts I found two ways to get into the cave, but I can't find the key to the lock, a way to break open the rock, or something to explore the hole.

Thus everyone shall remain a bear forever.

Edit: Wait a minute, the CHIMKEN
