1. Mode of storytelling - Exploration?

2.  The progression felt very natural. Everything was placed in the area nicely, allowing you to explore.

3.  The storyworld is so cute and the change in color very quickly established a new vibe to the dreamworld.

4. This is like highkey really good game design, the way that all the sprites that the player talks to are placed in such a way that the player wants to interest them in the correct order.........genius.

  1. The designer used the method of exertion story telling.
  2. The designer used this method consistently through using each character in the dream world to direct the player to roam and collect what items are needed to complete the story.
  3. The methods were effective through each character giving the world some life through the funny dialogue and clear directions given to the player.
  4. All in all, I enjoyed the game. I like the cute animations of each animal the player meets and enjoyed how the "froggles" puzzle motivates the player to explore the small world.

  1. What methods of storytelling did the designer use? (it’s ok if it doesn’t fit neatly into the definitions from our reading, but please try to describe the method of storytelling/worldbuilding)?
    1. text that hinted at the scenario and goals ...pastel green and bright pink tones.... title screen that mentioned plushies
  2. How did the designer use those methods consistently?
    1. everything was clearly written and paths/objectives were clearly defined and easy to complete
  3. How effective were those methods at communicating a “storyworld”?
    1. created a soft, comfy aesthetic (color switch indicated dream land vs real world)
  4. What feedback, advice, or questions do you have for the designer?
    1. this was adorable. i wish there were more interactable items and such, but overall nice simple relaxed experience that i enjoyed.

  1. The designer built an authored story and elements of a story of exertion to convey the game. They also used cutscenes, animations, and had a moment of rest and reward.
  2. The designer was able to use those methods consistently when the player walks around the room and enters the “dream” world.
  3. These methods were effective at communicating a “story world” since it allows a player to look around and enjoy surroundings without being punished for it.
  4. I believe that this game looks great, both artistically and structurally. Good job!

The transition into the dream world was a nice touch! I'm not sure if the story fits cleanly into one of the three categories, but you used comedy well. The audience suspends their disbelief since it's a dream world, so anything can happen. The puzzles, while basic, show promise to potentially expanding on this idea in the future.  Your dialogue was great; I'd suggest finding ways to lean on that more in later projects. Nice job!

The game uses the method of exploration to tell its story as it simply drops you off in the world for you to figure out where to go and what to do. This method was used consistently as there was not hint as to what interactable items were necessary or there for world building. I would say the methods were done well enough as communicating the world the player is placed in.

Overall, very simple cute game though I will admit, the bear scared me a bit. Probably because I was not expecting the screen transition into its room.
