Cool idea, but due to the UI I was finding infractions before understanding what they were infractions of. I didn't get to the manual until after I had already found a bunch of the infractions. I also haven't found one still: (rot13) V unira'g orra noyr gb svaq bar sbe zrqvpny (V nffhzr vg'f fbzrguvat nobhg qbvat gur 10 zvahgr evghny ohg V'z abg fher jurer vg vf)

Hey ambierona!

Appreciate your feedback and totally agree. We're currently at work shoring up that very aspect of the gameplay so the fun isn't spoiled so early. A lot of folks feel the same way!

As per your question:

Small Hint:

Very funny premise. Good art, and I enjoyed following the story through the different documents. Plus I love the idea of playing as a pencil-pushing bureaucrat trying to ding the badass space hero over minor infractions.

The implementation, though, really undermines it. I was all ready to look at the timestamp on the camera, cross-reference it with the mission in the ship's log, and determine if they were using the right color of space suit. So I was pretty disappointed to discover that the infractions were the only clickables in the game, and they're straight-up labeled with what rule they violate.

I'd like to see the interface reworked so there are an assortment of clickables and you have to suss out which ones are rule violations and which aren't. The story and everything don't need to change at all--they're already great!

Hear you loud and clear - that's fantastic feedback.  Based on similar feedback, we're looking at adding a "professional bureaucrat" mode that would require exactly what you described - cross-reference, examine, pick ONE correct clue from many possible clues etc. That way you're effectively forced to dust off the ol' pen + legal pad and get to work. For the sake of this game jam, we thought it would be best to implement a really straightforward and "totally beatable" version. But it sounds like folks we be down to try a more challenging version, which actually rules.

Thanks again for the feedback, we will absolutely let you know when that's updated.

Yeah, I think that would be great. Totally understand the motivation of wanting to keep it simple and solvable for the jam (that's also why I made mine so easy to brute force). But I would love a tough mode, the structure of the game is so well-suited for it!

I had so much fun playing this, but I can't find the final transgression! Braxton is evading justice!

Yusss, I found it. So good! I am such an important bureaucrat! I look forward to my promotion in 9.75 years!

I have been tricked! Bamboozeled, even! Here I was thinking that I would get to play a fun game about being a cool space detective only to realize I am nothing but a space bureaucrat! How could you do this? So cruel! (also a really fun game :)

AND NOW YOU KNOW THE BANALITY OF EVIL. (also we're so sorry and more mad at ourselves than you could ever be. We cry during every playtest.)

Thanks for playing! And hilarious comment lmao.

Nice game, the art is amazing and have a good system to find information. I got stuck for a while not understanding where should I drag clues. But besides that everything was ok. Great job.
