Hey ambierona!

Appreciate your feedback and totally agree. We're currently at work shoring up that very aspect of the gameplay so the fun isn't spoiled so early. A lot of folks feel the same way!

As per your question:

Small Hint:

Frr vs lbh pna svaq n zbzrag va gur ybtf jurer n zrqvpny cebprqher jnf cresbezrq (be vzcyvrq gb or cresbezrq) ol gur qbpgbe.

Medium Hint:

Vs gur qbpgbe qvqa'g gnxr gur SHYY 10 zvahgrf gb qb gur cerc evghny, ubj pna lbh cebir gung?

Full on spoiler:

Gur vasenpgvba vf gur gvzrpbqr vgfrys.

Hear you loud and clear - that's fantastic feedback.  Based on similar feedback, we're looking at adding a "professional bureaucrat" mode that would require exactly what you described - cross-reference, examine, pick ONE correct clue from many possible clues etc. That way you're effectively forced to dust off the ol' pen + legal pad and get to work. For the sake of this game jam, we thought it would be best to implement a really straightforward and "totally beatable" version. But it sounds like folks we be down to try a more challenging version, which actually rules.

Thanks again for the feedback, we will absolutely let you know when that's updated.

KEEP GOING! JUSTICE MUST PREVAIL!

rot13 for answer to your Q:

Eryngvbaf qbrf vaqrrq unir n pbzcyvnapr ivbyngvba! Yrg hf xabj vs lbh arrq n uvag ba jurer gb ybbx!

AND NOW YOU KNOW THE BANALITY OF EVIL. (also we're so sorry and more mad at ourselves than you could ever be. We cry during every playtest.)

Thanks for playing! And hilarious comment lmao.

Thank you for playing! Galaxy Quest meets Obra-Dinn is an insanely cool comparison. Much appreciated.

Regarding the "full picture" aspect, we're thinking of adding a section that details the whole story in a linear fashion beat by beat, each beat unlocked as you solve clues. Do you think that would detract from the fun of the player assembling it themselves?

Ooo say more on this. Like the whole hitbox area itself should light up in addition to the cursor?

This was fun! Would be curious to see what the "proper" steps were... my solve feels kinda big and clunky.

Appreciate the feedback! We're def still in the process of balancing those mechanics. We do indeed want to avoid having the player feel like they need to spam clicks everywhere because the setup isn't clear or the hitboxes are annoyingly precise. Will look into this. Thanks again!

Really excellent. My only feedback is it might be more intuitive to have the WASD controls be locked in relative to world space instead of player space. At times it felt like flow was being interrupted just to figure out which way the player was oriented so I could proceed. Could just be a personal preference thing or a built in difficulty thing though so feel free to ignore!

Otherwise, buttery smooth gameplay. Would absolutely play a longer version.
