Congrats on winning Sprint-3 jam 🙂
I will be creating a dedicated channel on discord sprint server for this game if you decide to continue developing it further. Just ping me any time on the discord sprint server or dm, I will also give you admin for the channel 😉 Most likely will be creating tomorrow.
!!! Absolutely continuing to develop Jennie’s Room, appreciate it so much. Feel kinda bad, though, y’all are making such great stuff.
I loved the artstyle a lot. My favourite part - is how the lights swich turns the room dark gradually.
I noticed some parts are loading (pictures on the laptop and books) but when they are loaded once the next time they are loaded much faster. I actually kinda liked the loading speed when they are loaded slowly the first time, that creates this "internet" effect :) for the books I would keep the loading speed consistent every time they opened, but for the laptop pictures I would add some randomness so it would keep that "loading from internet" effect.
Edited: btw, I have 16:10 laptop and the game works perfectly fine on that resolution 👍
Thank you so much for checking it out! Glad you enjoy art and lights-out effect, and good call, will be more mindful about image loading (and your suggestions for that feel on the money).
I understood precisely none of it. I felt precisely all of it. I suppose this is the feeling of traveling to Evernost.
On a serious note, a "game" like this takes serious attention to detail. Everything feels so intentional, and with the story being so abstract, every little moment you create with adding music, or exiting the game with a CSS warning and all the art... It all feels so cohesive even though I'd need to spend a year playing it to understand it all.
As far as the improvements, yeah. Good job.
Wow, thank you. <3 This is so encouraging. Later parts may be less opaque but I’m incredibly glad it’s evocative and powerful even when baffling (no fear, parts of it are baffling to me too, and it’s much more about the feeling than particular ideas/events). The thing where it exits full-screen with the browser alert was a bug but if it feels like it adds to the experience maybe I’ll stick with it (for the dark lights out bit at least). And definitely hope to keep adding music…
