I was able to download the build off GitHub but yall should still figure out what this is about lol
Things I liked:
- I like the idea of molding specialized towers to fight off various enemies. It's a neat concept, and it's brought to life pretty well. I also like that different enemies' colors match up with the colors of the candies that they have the same flavor/toughness as--it's pretty neat.
- Being able to change the theme colors is a small detail, but it's very nice. Gotta love user customization.
Things I didn't like:
- There's a lot of information that I feel should've been presented more clearly. What's the difference between different units? What's a given candy's flavor/toughness? What beats what again? There's a lot of things one has to figure out, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but with how fast the game starts, one doesn't really have any breathing room to learn said things.
- If you lose and return back to the game, the round never starts, and you have to restart the game...
Regardless, good job!
took a while to figure out the mechanics but i enjoyed it! it would be nice if there was an ingame tutorial rather than having to read instructions
btw id appreciate if you guys checked out my team's submission too below and rate it back :)
also it seems like the download for the game has been taken down by itch, you might wanna upload it somewhere like google drive and post the link here?
I really enjoyed the idea of crafting units that you guys did in this game, especially how the colors would change based on the type selected. My only issue was that it was a bit difficult, and the learning curve felt steep. Once the first few enemies spawned, I had a hard time remembering the typing system and spent most of the time trying to learn the characteristics of each unit, but at that point, I was already being overrun with enemies. With all that said, the visuals are definitely a strong point, as the Candyland-style units are really cool IMO (Peppermint with Batton was my favorite).
Hey! Can't find a way to play or download this currently. Just wanted to let you know, if you didn't already!
We added the game just now. Thanks.
