Artstyle is cool, but terrifying. Bullets are pretty slow, and Caroline was pretty slow, too. I really liked this game overall, definitely deserves more attention.

This game's a good example of the whole being more than the sum of its parts which means I found a lot to criticize even though I really liked it. Some of the graphics are not so good (Caroline taking tiny baby steps that are completely inappropriate both for running from monsters or firing a gun looks ridiculous (the bad kind), so does the fact that based on the scrolling map she appears to be approximately the same height as a vase/flower pot whereas in the first room it looks like easily a dozen clones of her could all share the bed) but there's just so MUCH custom ART plus some of the monster designs (mutant walnut man? wait, is that literally just a disembodied vulva with teeth?) are very inventive, SO the graphics are very impressive overall.
A few random thoughts:
- Bullets are laughably slow. Bullets should really, really move faster than the player or the enemies. Please consider speeding them up at least a little.
- Why the scrolling?? Scrolling side-view shooter has what I'd call poor compatibility with survival horror resource management. But even more fundamentally, unlike when you're flying in a spaceship or speeding in a car or a boat or whatever there is no
- The intro is a bit overlong and the music/sound cuts out very early into it, at least it did for me. Some of the worst art in the game is on display here and it's just more exposition than is needed for this type of game. The typos/spelling/capitalization issues do not create a favorable impression either.
- The pig man is absolutely horrifying. Reminds me of the final boss of the first Manhunt game, really terrifying stuff.
- Burgers instead of hearts for the health icons is a strange choice.
- It probably couldn't hurt to have the game explain the controls at the beginning since I'm noticing default assumptions vary a LOT with engine/dev tool.

Thb i also hate the animatons of Caroline too it was on my list for the whole time to change this but then i ran out of time and had to use this creepy animations π
I did the scrooling because i added the health bar and the other things that are displayed on top very late in developmemt and I didnt really found out how to let these bars following the camera in time so i decided to just move the whole level around it π
Im not the best developer to be honest but i hope i can fix it in the next version.

Nice action survival game! I liked the intro section and the overall art is very unique. I just feel like the game is too hard but for the wrong reasons. Caroline just moves too slow and the bullets also fly out slowly. Also I feel like enemies shouldn't be able to harm you if they touch your gun, the hurtbox should only be inside the body ,and I found myself running out of ammo constantly but that might just be because I tried to kill everything that moved.
Fun game though, very charming and action packed.

Yes you are absolutely right to get hurt when enemies touch the gun is very stupid but i sadly didnt had enough time left to change the hitboxes.
Yes ammo is very limited i wanted to create a feeling of fear by not having enough ammo to kill every enemie and so you need to try to shoot only when it is really necessary but i guess i really should have put more ammo on the level.

Wow this was amazing! Equally fun and creepy! Some of the monster designs are absolutely terrifying! The story is pretty cool, it has some 80's horror film vibes. Sound design is good and the music is very fitting. My only complaint would be that hitting some monsters was a bit hard (specially those monsters that look like leeches). But overall, a great game! Very creepy! Great work!

I agree that some enemies are a bit tricky to hit and maybe some others should be placed differently on the stage i will diffenetly keep this in mind when i keep on working on this game.

it's like a nightmare fuelπ¨, I love the sliding story and the graphics of it, It fits perfectly for the story, the only thing I don't like is the hitbox, Enemies can still hit me even they're on top of me. all in all it was a fantastic job!, and also you have a balls of steel for submitting it 14 minutes left, I would be sweating like hell if I were you.π€£

To be honest my panic Level got more and more towards 100 percent that i didn't make it in time with any minute that went by without having the Submission ready. π
Interesting game, but very tough... I often got into situations where an enemy below me kept me from moving down to line my gun up with an oncoming enemy, so I couldn't shoot or dodge and had to take damage. Also there seemed to be no way to kill enemies at the bottom of the screen. Eventually I ran out of ammo and died, not sure if I got unlucky or if I needed to be a lot more conservative with my bullets. Cool enemy designs though.
