Nice game. Pretty difficult but I liked the aspect of discovery and finding out how to best speed run it. Definitely was frustrating to walk into a room only to find out that you're walking into fire but I guess that's the learning process. Art and sound design really built the atmosphere for the game.

This game was very tricky! It could definitely use some checkpoints to ease the frustration, but it was a very cool concept, especially the miracles! Good stuff!
Really liked what you were going for and i thought the atmosphere was fantastic.
for criticism: i think the jump is way too floaty, doesn't feel like you are jumping . i get what you were trying to do with the wall mechanic but its just weird ;/ other than that i dies a couple of times from stuff i couldn't see which was frustrating.
I think the game really makes you feel like you're stuck in hell which is very good but maybe it sacrifices a bit too much of the gameplay in order to convey this feeling.
Still a pretty unique game which accomplishes most of what it tried to do, good work!
Thanks for the feedback and the criticism. You are right, the wall jump wasn't as polished as I wanted but in future versions, it will improve, and I know that there are some fires placed with so much bad intention, but I wanted to make players feel a little bit frustrated at the start. I think that after some minutes you will have memorized everything that kills you that maybe you couldn't see, especially if you try to do a speedrun. Thanks for playing and taking the time to comment :)
Fun game! I like how the ‘death’ animation sends us straight back to the start so smoothly – makes it feel like the depths of hell keep getting larger and larger “forever stuck in purgatory” rather than just a simple restart
I thought this game had great art, but there were a few main problems: the gravity is too low(maybe apply a downward force to the character when it is not grounded), and the wall jump is a little confusing. Can I jump more than once with the wall jump on a single surface? Also the cutscene was amazing.
Love the art in this game as well as the cool slightly character
Would love it if you could try mienhttps://itch.io/jam/speedjam5/rate/2735056
I really like this game. The overall aesthetic and gameplay loop is very solid. My only complaint is that I got lost part way through. Regardless, this is a very good project.
