I'm really impressed.
The voice actif, it's mindblowing to be able to do that for a jam's game.
And the general atmosphere... Wonderful.
The game design, aesthetics, storyline and scripting is _stellar_! I did NOT expect voice acting, especially of such a high quality, although the volume is rather low. Excellent use of cameras (something I don't favor) for cinematic effects.
I haven't played all the way through yet, but absolutely, most assuredly will! Right from the outset I was instantly drawn in and the tension was insane! Very good job on creating this!
UGHHHH, this game's tone and atmosphere are EXACTLY right up my alley, and I am very appreciative of your narrative skill and eye/ear for design here.
I was really excited when you joined and moreso when you submitted, and for good reason. This stands head and shoulders above your first game, which was already promising and something to be proud of.
Your cinematography and script? INSANE high quality for something I did NOT expect to be in a jam.
I thank you for this submission, which maintained a very unexpected high standard of submissions for this jam.
(disclaimer: comments are based on my first playthrough, I think I'm roughly 60% through the game!)
The mapping caught my eye, but the camera work and the voice-overs are a nice touch as well. I will have to try this one.
Yay thank you so much! I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Played it and I have to say the 'feel' of the game, the atmosphere is very nice. You've got your own style. That and the camera work I found to be the 2 strong points, in my opinion.
The voice overs (with equalizing the volume), sound effect feedback, visuals during dialogues are all things that show good technical skill.
The orb puzzles were interesting, I might try something like that for my game Dracula. Interesting to see another dark fantasy game and how you express it.
Overall, petty good for a game jam game and I think it has potential to build some fans if development continues.
My only really negative thing to say is it uses stock assets for the characters and busts (which it's a game jam that's totally normal) and some of the text in RED with white outlines was a little hard to read. I did like the red text though, so I'm not sure how I feel about it.
But overall, yeap, it's definitely good, you're most excellent with setting the mood.
(PS the dog was great XD)
