I liked this one, though it took me reading the other comments to figure out what was going on :) Very cool atmosphere, and I really liked the movement mechanic even though I agree with the others that it seemed a bit slow. I too got stuck because of the monsters surrounding the spawn point.
The game is not very clear at first, I was killed next to the spawning point and then the enemy kept spawnkilling me and growing a horde with my corpses.
The game is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerry slow, to the point is not enjoyable
But the concept is good and I think you can improve from there
I like the idea that when you die you become another monster. The graphics are simple but aesthetically pleasing. The gameplay could be sped up. If you die close to the base, itβs hard to push through the monsters and move on. But overall good idea that has potential.
That's good feedback, thanks! I agree about the speed and that it gets unplayable after a certain amount of deaths. I didn't have time but if I develop it after the game jam I'll change the enemy AI around, maybe have them wander at night if you are in the base.
The premise is pretty interesting! Unfortunately there's a pretty bad bug that spawns another enemy when you die, such that after 1 death the game pretty much becomes impossible. I'd also suggest just increasing the movement speed of everything by 3x or 4x.
Thanks for the feedback! The death spawning is a mechanic not a bug, just poorly implemented, definitely something I'll make it more clear and less game breaking if I have time.
OH haha I get it, like the bodies of the previous attempts. That's pretty cool, but, yeah, for me it led to a stack of 6 of the guys spawncamping me.
