Two Game Jam Questions

Hi!  I'm wanting to join this jam, because I need to make more games to pad out my portfolio.  I have an idea for a short choose-your-own-adventure horror game that's been bouncing around in my head for awhile, but all I've got for it is an outline of events.  No dialogue, no graphics, nothing.  Just an outline.

My first question is, can I still use this idea for a submission to this jam?

My second question is: if so, do I have to wait until the jam starts to write the script or can I start that now and save the jam timeframe for the actual programming?

Thanks in advance!

Hi! I'm glad that you've decided to join our jam!

To answer your questions, firstly, you can indeed use that idea for your jam submission. But secondly, you shouldn't start writing the script yet. The story feels to me just as much a part of a game as the programming is. So I would wait before structuring your story into a series of events, keeping it as a loose, vague series of ideas for now.

Thank you!

I'll hold off on the writing, then.  Thanks for clarifying!  I'm very excited to be participating!
