Really liked the game and from what i understood from the comments it was your first game in unity which makes it that more impressive!!! Great job and keep up the Good work!!

this games kind of fun. i really like its rng elements. this game reminds me of the berzerk arcade game. the two problems with the game is the shotgun and the level. the shotgun isnt that well balanced. its not entirely useless, but the spread isn't that big and its takes a long firing speed. Every time i accidentally pick one up, I'm always missing the sub machine gun and pistol. shotguns are meant to be good at mid to close range but this game doesn't really have that, and also getting into close range is too risky. The only time shotgun is useful, is when you wanna get rid of an enemy that's close to you at a corner.

on the bright side, the sub machine gun gives me a dopamine rush.  i love mowing down enemies in a straight line and then getting huge gun powerups. Maybe if it was a little more rare to get, it would be a little balanced but anyways great game!

Thanks so much for the kind words and constructive criticism! I'm glad you liked the machine gun ammo, that was my favourite as well ๐Ÿ˜„ I definitely feel like the game suffered from some lack of play-testing and balancing, and that's likely where the issues you mention are coming from. This was actually my first project I've made in Unity (started learning once the jam started ๐Ÿ˜‚) so I'm happy that there's at least a little fun to be had in it anyways!

Cheers again for the comment

Interesting game! Wish you had a little sound or music, other then that it was a fun experience! good job

Developer

Thanks for the comment! For sure, I definitely didn't budget enough time to get sound added. I'll be making sure to start my next jam with more time allocated to that.

Glad you had fun nonetheless ๐Ÿ˜„

If there was a bit of sound, this is the kind of silly game I could play for hours :,) Good one!

Developer

Thanks for such a kind comment haha! I feel there's potentially a good game hiding under this one, but I for sure needed to budget my time better to ensure I had stuff like sound and etc.

Cheers for playing anyways and I'm glad you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜„

Reminds me of neon white in terms of the mechanics of disposable weapons, cool. It's worth adding some levels or bosses, that would be cool

Developer(+1)

Ahaha thanks for that! Neon White is so good, so I appreciate the comparison ๐Ÿ˜‚ If I keep working on the project I'd love to implement some more levels and bosses. If I do, I'll make sure to upload it to itch.io

The artstyle is cute and fun, I managed to make a gun farm at the bottom right of the map haha.

Developer

Hahaha thank you! Glad you like the game, the art was actually a massive rush job and my best attempt and making something not too 'programmer art'-y. The gun farm was unintended but in my experience the easiest way to farm points hey ๐Ÿ˜‚

I like your interpretation of the gamejam theme! The game world is easy on the eyes, and the different gun types are neat. The hue variation effect on the enemies and the walking animations are nice touches.

I can't rate the gameplay because I don't think the game ran as intended on my end... bullets from both the player and the enemies would either disappear immediately or decelerate and freeze after a short distance. If you want to keep working on this project, let me know and I'll give you my specs to help fix the bug. I didn't hear any sound from the game either, in case there was supposed to be.

Gameplay and sound aside, nice work!

Thanks for trying out my game! I'd definitely love to know more about that gameplay bug though, hopefully it's not going to be widely reproduced ๐Ÿ˜…

Really fun, solid base for a game! Super interesting concept, and I like the silly little glasses on the player!

Developer

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜„
