The game feel and juice  in this game is really nice, I feel like it might be a little too easy in its current state? didn't feel much challenge from just spamming left click and the 2nd upgrade (forgot its name, space one) felt a bit underwhelming,
not sure why all the inputs are hold instead of straight click aswell.

But these are honestly minor notes as I really enjoyed smacking the hell out of enemies and making bank

Destroyed what I could, it's time to start over mommy.

I believe the bar in the tornado (Spin? not sure what it represents exactly) stopped going down after a certain point.

peace... at last..

one of the best incrementals in the jam and made me laugh alot :)

Cool game! I like the enemy types, if I had any feedback it'd be sometimes the last wave seemed impossible to finish (I'm glad I finished it in the end still) not sure if it's random spawns or not but it did seem like there were often 2 enemies from opposite sides coming and I could only dodge 1. Good stuff!

The art in this is soo nice, I really like the sock characters they're all very cute and so is their associated minigames, did I cheese the casino minigame on the 2nd playthrough? yes i did, and i'm proud of it. I like the pipe puzzle the most, wish there was a bit more since it's a very short game but what it does try to do it does very well.

Some feedback, not sure if I missed it in both playthroughs but I don't think it's ever implied that left click rotates the trapdoors or the thingies in the first jumping minigame, had to accidently trigger that to learn about it.
I encountered a minor bug which seems to be already known so I'll save the time.

And the moral the story is trying to tell is very nice and is conveyed well in this short experience, I liked it alot!

(1 edit)

I love the aesthetic so much! There's so many cool environments before getting to the minigames, I really like the way you did the audio slider aswell, very cool idea, I thought having the controller be controlled by the mouse might be hard to control but all the minigames were surprisingly responsive, no complaints on that front honestly. Other than some stutters (particularly during the "main menu") there isn't much else to give feedback on, maybe I wish the first environments were utilized more in terms of gameplay since they are quite nice, and just more of the game overall, great stuff!

I got what I asked for, perhaps even a little more.

That's really unfortunate - the only linux player I had used proton but I'm not in tune with what the differences are, I'm glad you tried though!

Wow what a game didn't expect a good lesson from a game. this one takes the seriousness (seriously) to a whole other level. Not sure if I was really looking into it to deep but the unnerving nature of the legs twisting in inhuman ways while you are training makes it unsettling and shows you the nature of the matter, the fact that the happiness meter increases despite you being about to collapse also says a lot, as if collapsing is the only way to take a break from this cycle, some feedback would be the controls didn't map to each leg easily for me and I had to try around for a bit to properly figure it out, and (spoilers I guess if you are reading before playing) I'm glad the ending is a good one!

Why did it take me so many days in this jam before stumbling across this masterpiece. I don't think any other game has allowed me to experience spinning my meat in this much detail. The speedrun levels are cool and having to manage your meat's length to optimize for speed / control is fun, The combat did feel a bit hard to do perfectly and I kind of just flopped my meat around hoping for the best, I like that the enemies and obstacles interact with each other a lot. Getting my meat into the fridge did sometimes feel a bit hard I don't know why but the physics of it could never add up in my head, probably a skill issue. Either way really funny and good game,  also drop the song on spotify NOW.

What a game.. Truly I have spun 2 win in ways I couldn't have asked for - try this out, don't get spoiled and enjoy :).

This is so much fun!! I love the decision making in having to spin and be disoriented but get bullets or use the dash for a more  reliable but harder to get kills and it makes the moment to moment gameplay very intense, I think the difficulty and balancing is also good for a jam game, minor issue, in the final wave all the bullets froze and spinning turned them blue but they didnt become my bullets so I had to win by only dashing but that ended up being its own kind of fun, getting to the main menu after that spinning on the Play button didn't work so that might help narrow the issue down.  Really cool game!!

Thanks so much for the praise and I hope you had fun!

Thanks so much for playing and I'm glad you had fun!

This game is just too cool, I really wish the camera was less buggy but more people have to try this out. super awesome stuff

Wonderful game and I was indeed taught how to fish, I bet the fish in space tastes a lot better too, on my second playthrough in the space level one fish was very adamant on not leaving my bait so I couldn't fish any other fish and starved that day, awesome stuff!

I also dont think I praised the smoothness and squishiness of the animation all across the board enough, super sick

The cinematics in this game are so amazing, I don't have much feedback to give other than the camera controls changing when you are winding up from the normal seemed a bit weird, I think I'd have liked to still be able to use my mouse to direct the way I'm facing during the wind ups, and that I couldn't get the in air dash in both of my playthroughs unfortunately, really wish there was more... Awesome stuff!

Really fun game! the enemy designs are cool and so is the roguelike next round select, and the boss was fun aswell, I think I may have had a bug where after I lost the boss his health bar was always there until I met him again, the shop was cool but I found myself prioritizing health more, and the camp fire always gave me money right before the boss which seemed a bit weird maybe i got really unlucky with its spawns, and sometimes it felt a bit tough to dodge the jumping enemies. I know I mainly mentioned gripes but I really had fun just some minor issues I had while playing, great stuff!

So much content.. I really want to continue but I would never get to the other jam games haha, reallyyy impressive stuff, the upgrades feel impactful and I really need to get out of debt, not sure what happened to that one guy who blew up tho lmao.

Glad you enjoyed!! the dash is mentioned in the main menu but it might be easy to miss haha

Thanks so much for taking the time to give a detailed comment! I'd like to say that you are likely not missing anything it's just design in a lot of places that expects the player to have mastered the game's intricacies and is indeed extremely punishing.

A lot of the design issues you've mentioned are ones that I agree with but are a product of rushing to get it out in time (particularly the boss not being tuned very well & menu bugs) so I'll save the comments on those.

These comments are primarily on how we arrived to some of their decisions for the sake of clarity not necessarily rebukes since I don't think anything you said is inherently incorrect.

Now the flat arena issue lies primarily with perspective, after grappling with different arena styles and camera positions this seemed to be the most optimal during our early tests which were only conducted by us the devs who got used to the movement system after a lot of time working on it, having bowl shaped arenas required us having either moving cameras (which we did not experiment with) or a very top down view which made it hard to tell when the player was in the air leading to even more unexplained deaths and the movement wasn't particularly tuned for curved shapes, it's also why in the boss arena I changed the camera angle to allow the player to tell even better if they were in the air compared to other arenas. Honestly I would say during the development process deciding on the arena shapes was the hardest part that in the end we decided the main arena will just be a basic circle for the sake of the jam, and we ditched other arena shapes (including an X shaped one) and left the clover one as it was significantly more playable than the rest for the sake of variety.

As for the retries, this became a lot bigger of a feature than I was expecting, Originally In the loss menu there was only the option to return to main menu and the option to either 50% exit the game or 50%  return to the main menu, I in the last few hours was quite confused by this and had the very bright idea of changing it to continuing from where you last left in the game due to us not having time to do checkpoints, and oh how I regret this despite some comments here enjoying this feature as the very minimal "checkpoint" implementation tied to arenas wasn't used often on the 2nd arena leading people to start from the very beginning.

As for potential solutions I thought about over the time this has been out are stuff like sci-fi barriers that can be broken over multiple hits from the player or more playtesting with curves in arena edges, and obviously a checkpoint system / leaning into roguelike stages rather than predetermined ones.

I hope this cleared up our thought process, we really aren't out to make you not enjoy this (which I doubt you believed) but how we arrived to some conclusions, either way many thanks for giving the time to try out our game!

Sadge. This game is really awesome and creepy / eerie in the right ways, the art is on point aswell. I'm very curious if there are more than 2 endings I can try for though.

Thanks alot!! yes the minigame is a bit rough around the edges (heh.) but I'm glad you enjoyed regardless!

Honse 3 The Joust is the third installment in the critically acclaimed series "Honse!" by "DatSnappyBoi", it has been widely awaited and fans all went wild when the release of it was announced after the shocking plot twist ending in the previous installment.

Without getting into spoilers this masterpiece starts off by setting up the lore of the characters in a masterful way, backstory about the missing options button and the very nimble exit button and then it smoothly transitions into one of the most awe-inspiring camera shots  I've seen in my years as a reviewer. I don't think I've ever witnessed a Honse in this much detail in my entire life and my standard for other boring media has been elevated.

The cast for this cinematic masterpiece is also off the charts. From here on spoilers incoming so read at your own discretion!

The game - no - The masterpiece starts with the shocking revelation that Honse has abandoned his original goal of becoming the fastest Honse which comes as a surprise but this is what really kicks off this epic tale of revenge for the ultimate emotional payoff. Becoming the mightiest Honse is no easy task but you can truly see and witness Honse put his blood sweat and tears into this insurmountable goal, viewers can easily tell that his hard work paid off after Honse picks up the legendary sword and cuts the scene making it unskippable, truly a masterpiece in direction.

After the long but fulfilling training arc Honse encounters a fan favorite character which viewers hypothesized would make an appearence in the finale and he did, Long Honse but he clearly was no match for the mighty Honse and was slain with ease,  the amount of aura was overflowing and couldn't be contained in that final scene.

Then comes Honse with the strong bones, Honse with strong bones truly presents himself as a wise intelligent Honse and tries to settle for a discussion, but little does he know that Honse has ultimately abandoned such path att the beginning of this dangerous adventure, despite him being presented as an insurmountable foe his bones also couldn't stand a chance and was shown as a bloody gorey mess over the png in an incredible shot.

Now the moment the elevates this from just another Honse masterpiece to the greatest piece of cinema. In a hauntingly shocking twist one which all Honse fans could not imagine it coming we see the one who started it all... Brøther as his name is revealed masterfully and when he comes into view all the moments of foreshadowing from Honse 1 and 2 come paying off at once, the one who always stood in his way, shares the same blood as Honse. The director didn't waste time and got straight into the masterful fight sequence, those who were watching intently notice how Brøther fights in a way that shows his sympathy, pride and potentially love for Honse, one which his family couldn't provide, but Honse can't falter after coming so far and proceeds to use his Blade one last time. Now from here on I can't give an honest review as the screen became very blurry and I couldn't see what was happening but judging by the rest of this piece of art it is probably just as peak.

This truly was the legend of Honse.
10/10

Cute lil game! I wish the ball fell and wasn't eaten by the top of my screen but perhaps there's a void there we arent allowed to see, the different enemy designs are cool though the spiky one felt quite hard to avoid, there also wasnt much feedback on when the spikes hit my ball so I was left a bit clueless as to why my score was resetting for a bit. Good stuff eitherway!

Absolute 5 stars everywhere, the difficulty is quite high (specifically that 3rd level it just kept going, maybe it could've been split?) but it's a major part of its charm, SFX are super satisfying, pixel art is great and the ending made  all the tries in round 3 worth it. Would spin again. PS I think fart to win is what really happened here....

Wow what a game! It took me way too long to figure out the X in the piano is also pressed WHILE the notes you wanted to play were also pressed, every time I pressed it the screen closed which was very different from what it said it'd do. The concept is awesome though great work.

Glad you enjoyed, and awesome that you finished it!

It's sooooo interesting to see how we have very different takes on a very similar idea, your enemy AI designs are superb and the VFX across the board is astonishing, Sound is fantastic aswell, it does feel a bit unforgiving at times but I'm guessing this is how it feels to be on the other side of the game hahaha. No other notes, Great work!

Thanks, it was alot of fun watching you play!

Yes I believe that's where all my crashes were from

Super cool game! I did crash a couple of times but that didn't stop me from spinning to win. The UI at the start to manage your legally distinct Bey is a bit confusing and my bey sometimes ate my cursor and didn't give it back. Also I was pressing shift and not sure if I missed  anything but I couldn't tell which one was my Bey still :(. For the good stuff the sound design and the voice acting is awesome, the arena also is visually super cool, and the  few abilities I got to try were also fun. Other than the pesky bugs it was awesome!

This is so damn awesome! So much detail in this map and alot to explore, not to mention the time of day changing (the night sky is super pretty!), the dash also feels so sick, masterful VFX on that. I'm not sure if the controls are emulating a genre but I felt that if the Q/E were on mouse movement left and right it might've worked well too, though I ended up getting used to the controls anyways haha. Awesome stuff not sure if it saves but if it does I'll come back to get the last 6 bubbles. Great stuff!

What a game, surprised it doesn't have more rates... I can feel a lot of soul in it and having the spin be based on ballet is super cool. My only complaint is that I didn't realize / the tutorial doesn't make it clear I was supposed to hold click until I figured it by accidently holding left mouse button, for some reason right click occasionally worked for me when I was only clicking and I thought that was the only move I could do. After I figured it out it was a blast, the art is super awesome aswell. Hope more people play this gem!

Awesome game, art is super pretty and no notes on the mini-games they were all fun and fitting in their own way, I love the story too but for some reason I had a headcannon which had a plot twist near the end that's very similar to an anime called  Odd Taxi, I don't want to spoil this game or the anime so I wont get to it but thought I'd mention it, great stuff!

Pretty game! I wish I had more time near the end to look at my beautiful creation but I managed to screenshot it haha, also the explanation in the game made alot more sense to me than the one in the page and I got it right after that, cool stuff!

The goat himself, thanks for playing!

Game looks really polished and awesome, and a wide variety of actually meaningful upgrades which is hard to pull of for a jam, the customization of the area is also really sick. One minor issue would be I thought the turns on the right were the number of spins I had because I didnt see the spins on the left till later (I think I'm just blind). One of the most polished versions of the spinning wheel in the jam!

Love this game! surprised to see a 2D unreal game in the jam haha, I always went all-in and it seems like even if I win it resets my money :(. Great work!
