very good submission, loved the graphics/animations and  pretty much everything about the whole game, definitely a job well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words!

Amazing submission, well done! 😁 The art, sound effects, cutscenes... Absolutely epic. Kept getting caught out by those darn holes in the floor, and of course, got too close to the spider at one stage to be eaten, so some checkpoints would have been great.

But otherwise, fantastic. Brilliant. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Tried playing this at night... I couldn't 😅.

It was actually really fun to play. I love horror movies and shows, but I, for some reason, can't play horror games. Like it's okay when you see someone walk into danger on the screen, but here I'm actually leading the character into danger, and I died a lot.

This was truly fun and the cut scenes were really good.. and creepy.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! I'm also a huge fan of horror movies and I feel the exact same way about horror games. It was so weird to be on the other side making one for a change :D

Somehow feels Lovecraftian (the pacing), Don't Starve, and Fran Bow -esque all at once! Superbly sits on the edge of uneasiness! Also, the ambience and build-up to the eventual spooder reveal are amazing!

Managed to get 2 spiders to spawn at once under the light just before reaching the end door. Otherwise, the game is thoroughly polished! I now have a mild case of uncurable arachnophobia.

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you! Those were all big inspirations for us. Interesting bug about the spider spawning, thanks for your feedback! :)

Oh, the floor holes.... I fell into them, a few times, even though I knew they were there. Where do they go to because, logically, they should just send you to the next level down? Are they portals of doom?

I love the art and the whole atmosphere of the game. It was a great little moment when I realised I needed to use the light. You guys built an intriguing world here that you could expand upon if you wanted to. I wanted to play more. I also liked that on a technical level the whole game is just one screen (right?) because it doesn't feel like it.

Developer(+1)

Haha they're definitely portals of doom! If we expand the game I'd love to make them into spider nests :)
The game is all built in a single screen (or scene?) in unity. Thank you so much for your kind comments!

Submitted(+1)

Spider nests is a cool idea!

Submitted(+1)

(I haven't worked in Unity yet so I don't know the terminology.)

Developer(+1)

Don't worry me neither! I'm responsible for the art while my teammate, managed to make everything magically happen behind the scenes :D

Submitted(+1)

This game feels uneasy in the best way. The art-style, floaty-ness of movement and the way that cutscenes have objects disappearing and re-appearing really makes you think "what the heck is going on?"

Developer

Thank you so much!! :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow! I loved the atmosphere, art, and story. Also, great job placing the floor holes (very sneaky!). 10/10 :)

Developer

Thank you!! :)

Submitted(+1)

Really really amazing!! The cutscenes really struck me, and that first pit was so sneakily placed I fell into it twice. I especially loved how you played with the theme and made it dark and edgy >:)

Developer

Thank you so much!! We had a lot of fun making it :)

Submitted(+1)

I really like the art in this one! I got the biggest freight when I first saw the spider. Good horror style!

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you! I'm glad we managed to give you a scare!

Submitted(+1)

I like the nostalgic 3D graphics, battling is a bit repetitive but otherwise, quite nice.

Developer

Thank you, in future we would like to try to add more enemy types :)

Submitted(+1)

Loved the art style! It reminded me of a mix between Don't Starve and Coraline.

Developer

That was the inspiration behind the art, as well as Tim Burton's films. Thank you!

The atmosphere in this game is Incredible! The art is so nice and really cute. Well done you two :)

Developer

The art in this game is incredible! Well done to the team. To get this done in 48 hours is so impressive. Have to agree with everyone on the checkpoints though haha, I died a few times cause I was admiring the art and fell into a hole.

Developer

Haha thank you! Would definitely have added one if we went for the 72h entry :)

Submitted(+1)

Can't believe it was done in 48 hours, really well done on every front, sounds are perfect and cutscenes really well made. Nice job you guys.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind feedback!

Very well done artstyle and gripping narrative. Well done I enjoyed it. I would just say that adding checkpoints would be nice and option to skips cutscene

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Great look and feel! The cutscenes were awesome and the sound design was perfect. The character controller felt a bit floaty. I wish there were checkpoints for falling in holes.

Well done!

Developer

Thank you! Hopefully in future we can add a save/load system. We just ran out of time on this one :)

Amazing art style, great atmosphere and intriguing story! Very cool that the spiders were scared of the light.

Developer

Thank you so much! :)
