This was kind of rough. I DO like how the whole theme of this game was subverting expectations by immediately transporting you to a... glitch world? The major thing lacking in this, however, is polish. The reality glitcher was a neat idea but executed in a way that was cumbersome. It would have been better if it was activated by a button directly instead of constantly navigating to the menu to reactivate it. This is made especially frustrating because you have to backtrack through the same maze with the loads and loads of glitcher activation to solve the game's puzzle to progress.
There are also some softlock situations. If you use the glitcher in the boss fight, the game permanently soft-locks and you have to restart.
Overall. It has a charming aspect but it needs work.
Heya! I gave a quick try to you game and the graphic and music are very nice, looking at the window and seeing the apartment is very cool.
the labyrinth is not long enough to be boring, but pressing the item again and again can be tiresome.
I couldn't pass through My Friend boss, I used all the healing, I used the item and froze the game, I really wanted to know how the ending is, but I gave up :/
Use reality glitcher before fight your friend that how you ended
ah, I considered that, but I thought it wasn't possible since the cutscene starts right away (it doesn't, I assumed wrongly)
anyway oof having to pass through the maze 3 times, at least it's small. Also, there was a flower anywhere?
I like the story, but it feels like a 2 hour game squished in a 5 min game, comprehensible, since it's a jam.
I want to give honest feedback, but I don't think you'd like what I have to say. I am going to tell you anyway, in the hope you will learn from it.
Dialogue is a large part of an RPG. Meaning, your players have to read a lot. When the reading becomes a challenge, then it is hard to become invested in the story.
The next part I actually like. The idea at least... You have an item that teleports between 2 similar maps, on the same coordinates. The road in blocked in one map and not on the other.
However...
I love what you try to do, but I think you have a lot of work to do, before this becomes an enjoyable game.
I am sorry that I don't have more nice things to say. I just hope you'll take it as advice and learn from it.
thank for commenting it my first game by the way so won’t be that good.Next time I improve thank you
Please don't let my harsh feedback discourage you to try again and again. Your idea is really good, but you do have a lot to learn. If you keep improving your game, it will become better. Just don't give up.
Love the detail of being able to look out the window in the first room!
Not sure if it's my browser, but after leaving the initial house to find food, there was a graphics error.
Then I was suddenly in a weird place without any fanfare.
I found going into the menu to use the reality warper item a bit clunky. A dedicated button would have been nice.
Seems like a neat concept overall. ^,.^
The error screen is intention there :)
Ohhhhhh! Clever. Lol, sorry... I saw similar errors so many times while working on my own entry that I didn't even make the connection. >.<
It is? Oh... I didn't get that at all. That is a risky move. I almost closed the game, because I thought it crashed... When it moved on after the error, I was surprised, but still thought it was a real bug.
In a way, I think you could do well to make it a bit more obvious its fake by like, making the time the error display shorter or add some funny glitch effect to better clue the player that there is more to go from here rather than "oh, this game wasn't bug-tested."
