I really enjoyed this game, it really fits in the theme "Beyond expectations".
The battles are really cool, it mixes pretty well jrpg and puzzle game. This game brought up my will to exploit games. XD
Maybe even too much, since I felt that at times the games was going pretty easy on me, with enemies not doing enough damage and allies tanking for you. I would have really enjoyed a less handheld and hard experience, but making it more accessible is definitely the right choice for the game jam. Good job!

If you're curious, I streamed the game. Here's the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2471471900

Certainly interesting colour scheme and a cute game! I loved the soundtrack!

Really enjoyed playing through a classic drpg with a unique twist. The first person perspective's obfuscation of elements that would be easy to spot from a top down perspective helped add a sense of mystery and discovery to the exploration. The evolving narrative was handled excellently as well.

I will say that the equipment crafting system felt somewhat superfluous, since most of the materials I found for it came after I'd regained the broken 1HP build. Still, it was a nice inclusion and proved that even in this subversive battle system there can be different approaches.

Also, as someone who defeated Soulcage from FF9 in a single turn, I really appreciated the inclusion of HP restoratives dealing damage to undead. The whole premise of the game's combat was clever in that way, and I found the final battle to be especially effective as well! Great entry!

Played this during stream. Overall a short (not how I played it but you know) lovely game with only a few quirks and plenty of charm. Would recommend.

  • Art and music are custom and all great. The only problem with presentation is tied to the next point.
  • 3D/First person view: original, but comes with severe limitations and annoyances. A lack of sidestep, flowing navigation and some display quirks can make exploration difficult to parse (the trees in the second area are the worst offended). I understand most of these are limitations of the coding using, but still noticeable.
  • Would have been nice to have a minimap as you walk around or even just a compass.
  • Gear is all interesting and choices with it carry weight. Being able to fuse gear effects together at the cost of a rare currency was a very neat touch.
  • The text on steal fails is adorable.
  • I enjoy the approach to gameplay on the angle of "use tricks and cheats to win".
  • Story was sweet and paced sparsely through the game. The touches with the green flowers you notice much later are sweet.
  • There are a couple points where the difficulty spikes (granted, for optional fights) slapped me very hard in the face and got me frustrated, but I'm not very tactical.
  • When you recover your items, there's one type you do no (for boss reasons) which is fine, but there is no prompt to explain it which was bizarre when I later tried to find them.
  • There's a few gameplay bugs such as the skill capture not working and the reload on some gear skills making them very awkward.
  • Skill copying could have  more friendly use: having to aim at 35% r less hp just going off a bar with no numbers or % is feels weird.
  • Turns blend together, and especially when exploiting multi-urn gear, it feels nasty when you miss the turn change because of no signal.

Hey! It's another FPS entry, and already I fell inlove with the graphics and aesthetics! Amazing job with the colors and pixel arts especially the tiles used fit so well with the 3D look! I enjoyed the FPS mechanics like the traps, and also the unique gameplay of being a commoner door-opener just using items and loots as your means of survival, instead of being the usual adventurer! That definitely went beyond expectations! xD <3 THo tbh I died quite a few times on some mobs esp. the ones with the knights or the unicorns lol, but it does encourage me to be more creative with the items such as sleep, feathers, or reflect, so that was cool! The story was sweet and touching and I did have a bit of sentimental feelings with Milly and Sasori at the end, great job conveying that! <3

But I did find a bug, if it is a bug? At the ending when she killed herself due to trying to revive me (I had reflect on), they had this sad cutscene, but then everything just went to black afterwards and the battle UI is still there, I cant do anything that part. xD <3 SO im not sure if it was just me...

Overall, this is such a great FPS entry, and as a fellow FPS enthusiast, I find this very inspiring indeed! Thank you so much for this creative entry! Great job! <3
