Excellent ideas here, and cute sprite work. These adorable dino nuggets might be my favorite of the jam, they're so cute!

After an intense battle with the Pitmaster, I was surprised to find myself teleported to the first area with no escape. I liked the sense of adventure in the game, where each of the worlds correlates with each of the characters. Using the freeze to find secrets, and to cheese the teleport puzzle was also a fun aspect of this game. One critique would be to separate the moving and aim direction to a more twin-stick shooter kind of control scheme. Also, while I am a fan of the visceral sensation of mashing a button (and the action of doing so is largely my fault alone), I think it might have also been more "ergonomically responsible" to have the fire button map to a hold command as well.
Cute little game you have got so far! Cute that all the enemies are dinosaur nuggets, and Franky was pretty nasty summoning all of those haha. While unfinished, I do like the touching story you had planned! Nice to explore the layout of Smoke Box and see each section the mascots had.
The rush of the enemies all coming at you gave me kinda Hotline Miami vibes, I really dug that. Really enjoyed the lore of how the mascots looked after different areas of The Smoke Box, and can imagine the ending was quite heart warming. I did beat The Pitmaster, cool you did put a portal back to the start there, felt like the victory lap achieved!
i really love in this. the characters and the pickup sprites are all excellent. it has well hidden secrets. and the ending story is really touching. i think you did a great job
This is neat--the ideas are there, and the story is a very neat take on the setting that does well on promoting the restaurant (even if not in a particularly hip way). I'm glad the bosses don't reset their health when you die, as it would be very hard otherwise--the bosses whose difficulty comes from respawning a dozen enemies on top of you when they get hit aren't particularly fair (especially Frankie, since they surround you). The biggest problem is that with only a single sprite it's hard to tell which direction your shot will go--this might have been better if it was an actual twin-stick shooter (even if it was only the cardinal directions) so that wasn't as much of a problem.
