What was the origin story?
We made this project for HPS1 Summer of Shivers jam. We only had time for the one level, but did not have music nor a main menu. For this jam, all we did was polish: add three BGM (menu, gameplay, boss fight), a main menu, and updated character portraits/player weapon models.

Great retro look. Great music too.

The attack speed & range of the enemies is matched very well with the player's dodging

Developer(+1)

Thanks! That distance took me some time to calibrate, glad you liked it

as Music Producer of the Game want to say thank for feedback! It is really important to us to see how you like the content of the game! Wish you all the best in your project as well!

Love the retro aesthetics. Not sure about the feel of the mechanics. The spear didn't seem to have much range, and I think maybe it should have been faster. Was a bit lost as to who was and wasn't an enemy as they are all skeletons. Killed what I take as the boss and then I think one of the ghosts did me in. I think in general the AI needs a bit more work, as in they will attempt to dodge attacks, or if in a group too many die, they will retreat and regroup or something. Anway, cool concept!

Thank you!!

Am I missing something..? I downloaded the latest, started it up, and all I get is your boney character seemingly falling with a spear stuck in it whilst a sword rotates around. No matter what I press, nothing else happens.

Is that it?

Developer

I think that’s an issue with my most recent patch…I’m taking a look now.

Developer(+1)

Hey bjiCorp! It should be fixed as of this patch. Let me know if you have any issues!

Cool game, I loved the graphics, atmosphere and music. But the controls were a little odd, it was super hard to control the character. I persevered but in the end they still brought me down, I couldn't open the door and end the game I think? I really liked this one, only little changes and it could be a great game :)

Also I have recorded a gameplay video in case you want to see it from players perspective but it's really in an awful cropping because of the windowed mode.

thank you very much for your feedback, I very glad that you liked music that I did, wish you success in your project too!

Developer

Thanks Jakob! That door should’ve been openable once you got the key…I released a bugfix for that (v1.1.2); if you have the time, try seeing what’s past the door! ;)

This game is awesome! Great game feel and I love the art+music+sfx. It all also feels really cohesive which I know is hard to full off. Amazing job! 🙏

Is there a fullscreen button? I want to play this more but on my 4K monitor it's like unplayably tiny :/

DeveloperSubmitted

as a music producer of game want to say thank you for feedback! It helps to grow more and more, also wish you big success in your project!!!

Developer

Wow thanks! There isn’t a fullscreen button, but I will work on adding that.

Developer

Hey, I added a patch to force a full-screen window.

Submitted

Saw another person mentioned it, but I'm stuck on the title screen :/

Developer

Yeah, it was an issue with the UI anchors…I’m still figuring out how to support multiple resolutions X) In the meantime, this patch should work now!

Submitted(+1)

Ah, it works now thanks!
