Queen’s Game Development Club is excited to host our first game jam of the 2025– 2026 school year. Come join us from November 7th at 6:00pm ➡️ November 9th at 6:00pm for a 48-hour challenge game development challenge! Create a game, solo or with a team, using whatever programming languages, game engines, or libraries you like. Participants will have the opportunity to suggest themes which we will draw from. The chosen theme will be announced during our opening ceremony on Nov 7th at 5:45pm EST, so mark your calendar's and get ready!

📍Venue:

The jam will take place both on campus and digitally. There will be space available for both individual work and team collaboration.

In-Person:

  • November 7th: Theological Hall Rm 209 - [5:45pm ➡️ 9:00pm]
  • November 8th: Kingston Hall Rm 308 - [1:00pm ➡️ 6:30pm]
  • November 9th: Kingston Hall Rm 304 - [3:00pm ➡️ 8:00pm]

The best submission of Queen's University Fall 2025 Game Jam will receive the following custom-made prizes themed around your game jam entry:

  • 1st - Poster Design (or $25 Steam Gift Card)
  • 2nd - Buttons or ($15 Steam Gift Card)
  • 3rd - Stickers or ($10 Steam Gift Card)

📋Rules:

  1. Games submitted to the game jam must be related to the jam's announced theme 
  2. Teams can have a maximum of 4 participants
  3. Your game must be submitted by the deadline, late submissions will not be accepted
  4. Usage of generative AI assets (audio & visual) is strictly prohibited
  5. Feel free to use any free tool or assets. However please specify the source. (i.e. put them on “read me”  file of your submission)
  6. No sensitive context (e.g. extreme violence/nsfw/political)
  7. You cannot begin working on your project before the game jam starts on Nov 7th at 6:00pm
  8. DO NOT submit any old demos/already finished project.
  9. Feel free to communicate with other groups. However, do not copy other group’s work.
  10. Have fun!

👥Voting:

After the submission period ends on Nov 9th at 6:00pm, participants will have the opportunity to vote on each other’s games. Entries will be evaluated in the following categories:

  • Theme Interpretation - How well does the game adhere to the chosen theme?
  • Gameplay - How does the game feel? Is it fun to play?
  • Graphics - Does the game look visually appealing?
  • Audio - Does the game have audio? Does the audio fit the game?
  • Originality - Were you pleasantly surprised by some aspect of the game?
  • Stability - Does the game crash unexplainably and unexpectedly?

Games will be voted on by both game jam participants and by QGDC Exec members. The final standings will be determined base on public votes and QGDC Exec votes

**Note:  QGDC Exec's have the same voting power as a game jam participant**
