If the players finds the way to break out of the game's core 'loop', the game turns into an uncanny experience as you progress further on through its art, music, and story implications.

NOTICE: THIS GAME HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIALLY UPDATED.
This game was formally called "The Elusive Sword" for those who saw this game before. I had created this game to be apart of another jam called the "Game/Music Jam". Therefore, the current build of the game as of now is for that jam.
IF YOU HAVEN'T VOTED ON THIS GAME YET, DO NOT RATE THE MOST RECENT VERSION. The original version of the game (in it's 'flawless' state) is still available to download. Rank that version instead.
For those who see this and just want to play the new version for fun though, have fun! It currently doesn't have audio due to the rules of the other jam if you're wondering lol
love the room transitions and overall vibe! The slight saturation decrease on level 2 was a nice touch, sad I couldn't see what happened after all sword pieces were collected :(
I played until I ran into the invisible wall, which happened after the boss killed me on my second run (I don't know how much health I had or if this was supposed to happen since there was no indication of my health or if this would progress the story). I also ran into a massive bug where the text box was bigger than my screen resolution so I could never fully read what was written. I agree with Vivian on the knockback / indication you or an enemy has been hit, I believe that would go a long way for the combat system. Overall, I really enjoyed the music and graphics and can't wait to play the rest of it once you fix the invisible wall!
I've heard a bit about what the rest of the game looks like, but I think I've just gotta comment on what I've seen. This bit of the game doesn't have any uncanny or absurd in it and the music doesn't loop, but the gameplay itself is quite fun. I got quite invested in the monster fight and ran it until i did it without getting hit. I like zelda-esques so I was having a fun time. I think the enemies could stand to take a bit more knockback. Sometimes I hit things and the only reason I know it went through is because of the blink. I'm excited to see the whole game!
