I could not keep my little squirrel guy dry lol! A lot more challenging than first glance would suggest, good job. Gave me Monopoly guy meets Hoodwinked squirrel vibes.
I haven't finshed it, but I will get to the ending eventually!
It's a very addictive game, and yet it is such a simple concept, good work!
Oh goodness, i wouldn't get to the end. all that happens is you die.
I got to 3 days, score 9000-something. Was hoping to get to the ending! But I think I was pretty far off. It would be nice if the wetness level went down, even really slowly (e.g. 1 point every few seconds), so you can eventually recover from a mistake. Having bystanders comment on how wierd the old man is was a really good way to tick off the "bizarre" part of the theme!
Thanks Splerp! It means a lot. I definitely had the idea to make the wetness go down, but wanted the game to be really punishing.
The actually ending someone comments how the old man has been here for 14 days. Then you die of starvation.
Nice! I think arrow keys/WASD would have been nicer movement tho
Agreed, i wanted to have it be mobile friendly, so i went with touch first!
I'll add wasd in the future! I appreciate the feedback
Cute little game, congrats for finish one after such a long break!
Thanks Flyx!
this is good and challenging, and the story is evil, like me. I love evil things boi. Except putting pineapple on piza.
I bless the rains down in this club
The theme fit surprisingly well and it was a relaxing game. I really like the art style as well as the comments that come up about the rain not ending. However, I would suggest turning the ending screen into a click button rather than a hover as its easy to miss the screen and instantly go back to the game if your mouse was already in the center
Thanks for comment! I couldn't get the button to work :( so i shipped without. Time was definitely the enemy on this game. Thank you for your kind words.
fit the theme well
There is something so oddly nostalgic about this game, It feels like one of those games you play as a kid and you try to find it again when you get older but you never can. I love the little guy and the rabbit too!
I wish the story progressed faster so I could find out what's goin on but I love it so far (I would like to keep playing it and get to the end). Some music would be pog as well.
The graphics are so cool tho! I like em a lot!
Thanks for your kind words!
I also wish the story progressed faster, but i also like the long time it takes.
Music also fell off the list of "able to accomplish" list.
every drop of rain on that squirrel brought me to tears Ive worked so hard for that little guy
Love the aesthetics, need to hear some soothing rain and nature sounds in this and it would be perfect.
Agreed.
Good game! But it does get a bit boring without any music or audio. Things like the days mechanic and the dialogue are cool additions.
Thanks!
Ran out of time to get the sound in there! Next time, or maybe down the line i'll get around to adding the music. I had it recorded and everything but couldn't get it to loop!
Your game is fun too!
I was very excited when the day counter appeared and the dialogue started!
I love the shift from pure mechanics to narrative and a very cute squirrel and monopoly/pringle man (what's the lore - is he the squirrel's butler??).
Thanks for Jamming!
Thanks James!
Definitely wanted to add more stuff and smooth it out! Ran out of time in this jam. To much rust on the ol programming brain to get it done.
the og story was the man watches the squirrel to fill the void of his wife being gone, she committed suicide due to debt. Felt a little intense though. didn't want to have a bunch of disclaimers or to trigger people.
THANKS FOR HOLDING THE JAM! I'LL DO THE NEXT ONES TOO!
Ok game, for simplicity I will put down the good and bad parts.
The good parts:
1. The game looks ok
2. The game works well
3. The theme is framed well
4. The controls are simple
The bad parts about it:
1. Lack of audio feedback (lack of background music)
2. The game is quite basic and the squirrel moves a bit strangely (not that this is a big problem, but I hope it moves more smoothly)
Thanks for the feedback! i hadn't really thought of way to smooth out the movement, until the night after you posted this! DANG IT. Next time ill smooth it out!.
Audio was on my list, but I ran out of time! I really appreciate the feedback thank you very much!!!
