- Very cute short game, alchemy theming is basic but functional, unfortunately the shadows theming is not really implemented as a mechanic outside of the darkness in the cave which is superficial and kind of boring. However this did give me VERY strong indie story game vibes a la stardew valley. This game is kind of dead without any music or NPCs but I can super respect the vision you were going for! Make more games! You have a lot of potential!

Yes
Tell us about your game!
You're playing as an alchemist who needs to go out and collect some ingredients for a potion request. Two ingredients must be collected, one in a cave and the other in the forest you live in.
You have the ability to push and burn different objects, use those abilities to access different areas. The buttons you need to use are always displayed on screen, and you don't need to use your mouse for anything.
Please play using Google Chrome if possible. The window displays best on that browser.
Extra Notes
Thank you for hosting this, these game jams really lights a fire under me to get out there and make something. I had fun, and learned a lot.

Cute neat little game! I really liked the sprites and the very happy atmosphere it gives, a small little tune (some simple music) would be great to fit into the environment! Also I would love it if the controls could also integrate with the mouse (like left click is burn and right click is push (but that might be personal preference)). Other than that it certainty feels very well made, I truly enjoyed the helpful tips like showing what buttons to use, and the tab showcasing what I need to find and where I should go. ^-^
Thank you for the feedback! I never thought about integrating the mouse with movement, but I could see that working great for these projects. I'll keep that in mind next time, I bet it'll be fun to figure out
Cute game! Controls felt just a bit wonky when switching directions, but aside from that very solid.
Thank you for the feedback! Funny enough, I was actually just about to dedicate some time to making a movement script that I'd be more satisfied with
What a cute little game. I love the style and the push and burn game mechanics are awesome. Played to the ending. Thank you for making and submitting the game! :)
Thank you so much!
I enjoyed playing playing this! Great initial mechanics. I would only say that I was initially confused that you had to walk over the cliff to get to the red tree and missed that at first.
But honestly, I found myself wishing I could play more, great work!
Thank you! Another player had trouble with the same thing, so in the future I think I'll need to create some assets that make it clearer what you're supposed to be doing there or in similar situations. I appreciate the feedback though!
Very nice game, one quick improvement might be to prevent the 'hint' dialog boxes from popping up after they're not relevant. IE the ladder message in the cave after you've already collected the mushrooms. It seems like a very nice start to a fun puzzle game.
Thank you! Yeah, that should be a pretty simple fix too. In my testing I always got the mushroom second so I never caught onto that issue, but I've realized a few players didn't do that. I'll have to make sure to test these situations a little more next time when the player has the option to choose what they do first
Super cute, love the art! Wish it had some awesome music to match tho. Either way, good job! :)
Thank you! I did try looking for some music but I realized I waited to long and by the end of it I didn't have enough time. I'm gonna make that a higher priority next time for sure since it's important for the ambience. Thank you again!
Cool game. I love the art style. I wish there was more. good job
Saying you wish there was more is one of the best compliments I've ever gotten for one of my games. I really appreciate it
Nice little game! I like the combination of push and burn mechanics, would be cool to see that developed further as I imagine you could make some really interesting puzzles!
Thank you! Now that I stopped working on the project for a few days, I realized that I could have definitely made more and larger puzzles with the mechanics I had. Next time though
