How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
I created a puzzle game based on the premise that there's a bug causing calculations to function incorrectly (mathematically).

Did you include a fake publisher splash screen at the start of your game?

No

Did you use the Audius API in your game?

No

If AI was used in your game, let us know how you used it.

interesting idea, got past level one, but some hints or tips would help a bit with the gameplay

Developer

Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback.

This might sound like an excuse, but I do feel that with more time, I could have done more. Since I'm developing this alone, I don't think I was able to do enough playtesting or other preparations.

However, releasing the game has allowed me to receive a lot of feedback and gain perspectives beyond my own.

As a quick fix, I've updated the game page for new players.

Wish we could pass the level 1. 😭

Might be good concept, did not notice any errors though.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback.

Since many of you shared the same impression, I realized that the percentage of people who don't enjoy it seems to be higher than those who do.

I don't much care for overly explanatory games, so I tried to make it playable without much language. But as is often the case, things don't always turn out as planned!

For now, I've made the game page more user-friendly.

Like many already said, I think making the rules of the puzzle would have helped the player experience much more. I understand the error is the feature but you can always tell people what the error is. I like the idea and maybe if you update this to be slightly clearer in requirements, I'd love to kill a few brain cells here.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. Rather than adding new features, I tried updating the game's description page to better convey what kind of game it is to players.

I love puzzle games, including math puzzle. But you need to communicate the rules to the player, without that your game will be unplayable. Like just what I in my game for this jam, I properly introduce the feature in each level before making puzzle around it. I also give the option to see the hint so that player can progress the game.

Thank you for your comment!

I thought that providing hints might have allowed more players to enjoy the game.

All I did is try every possible combo till i passed levels, got to level 5 and stopped because i still didn't find some rules to rely on. I understand the concept that makes it so math equations have a different interpretation that makes sense, but you need to at least give people an already solved equation that helps us understand some of the equation's levels, since you are the one making the game, of course you will know the solution and why it works, but people who play the game first time will not know exactly what's going on. good concept I loved the idea you can improve it and always have people test it and should be great <3

Thanks for playing and for your comment!

I understand Level 5 is challenging because it requires understanding calculation rules and solving puzzles. Since both target numbers are the same, I thought the hint that the previous number must also be the same would help, but it doesn't seem to be working well.

Also, this game doesn't require you to complete equations. You can advance to the next stage as long as you create the target number following specific calculation rules. If you felt you absolutely had to use the equals sign (=), that's a problem with my level design—my apologies.

Anyway, thank you!

If the point is to just stuck on the second level you hit the nail on the head.

Developer

Sorry if you got stuck at level 2 (I know it's difficult).

But it's a necessary step to understanding the rules of this game.

I hope you'll try placing multiple identical symbols and trying to guess the rules, keeping in mind that this isn't a normal calculation.
