Description
god I hate submitting because for some reason it always goes wrong and I have to rewrite the description AAAAAAAAAAAA
anyways...
So this is a orchestral/cinematic song I made in about 7 hours not including the 2 hours that it took to set up the project, and I'm quite happy with it! I have no idea what it's about because I just sort of made music and continued with what the song wanted... I like most of it except the arrangement. No clue why but I just couldn't make proper arrangements this time, so if the sections feel rushed, that's why.

Your music is, as always, delightfully wild and diverse, with plenty of interesting themes and surprises.
The start is very tense yet with some feeling of hope: a great buildup. At 0:48, I did lose track of the beat. But at 0:57 when the other instruments joined, I quickly found it again (and the second listen, I had it immediately). You switch from 4/4 to a form of 6/8 at 1:20, which is funny because you first split your theme in 3+3+3+3+3+1 (=16), and then just proceed to get rid of this final 1 to change time signature. I love time signature switches, so I liked this :)
The OOMPH at 1:37 is sick, and the next part is great with the heavy drums. The instruments fit the theme well, I would say, with the horns, violins, and heavy drums. The chord progressions also work very well. Overall, cool track! Very interesting :D
And I like your choice to "only made 1 song so it's easier and faster to rate :0", though I do like to make a soundtrack of at least 2 songs to play with the interaction (leitmotifs, etc.). As long as all songs are combined of a decent length (such as 3 or 4 minutes), I like it :D
I love the rhythms and the poly chords! I also like the sound effects you used during the transition.
The percussion at the end was cool! almost wish there was a bit more of that throughout the piece. Great work!
Dude! Loved the polychords! Left a really ambiguous feeling. I was kinda like.. huh? Not like it sounded like it, but it made me think of Pokémon Silver. Like i was working to capture Lugia or somethin. Super cool!
The middle part reminds me of Aurora Awakes by John Mackey. I'm really glad it's not a dragon bossfight, because I would be really angry if it was.
Oh my goodness gracious it's famed Redline from esteemed Redline's Monthly Composing Challenge!
I really liked the transition at 1:20 it felt very cinematic! I feel like the song ended really abruptly though, like it was building up to a big climax but it just ended instead.
I do however appreciate a shorter entry as it makes rating every one a lot easier!
yeah I couldn't figure out how to make the ending into a proper climax in time unfortunately... Proper climaxes are one of those things that I just can't do yet for some reason.
Really gave me the sense of flying! And idk what you mean, I liked the arrangement personally 🤷. If I had to say anything at all, I feel like the percussion around 1:40 could've felt tighter, but that didn't take me out of it. Anyways, great job - really enjoyed the listen!
Thank you for listening!
Dragon Music 👍
I love the use of ostinati. It adds a great sense of urgency for a boss fight scene.
I use an ostinato in almost all of my orchestral songs, it just feels right :)
