Message from the artist
Please enjoy! The concept for the game is a slow paced puzzle platformer, similar in style to Playdeads great games Limbo and Inside. The premise of the game is to figure out if you are dreaming, and if so how do you wake up. the Game starts dark, but as you overcome obstacles you move upward, which get brighter and brighter giving you more clarity on your dream state,, until its too bright to proceed so the game forces you back down, until until you resolve certain issues bringing the upper levels back into focus, then you can go upwards again. This core mechanic is the what forces you to relive the events that put you into this fugue state over and over slightly changing and evolving enact time, and you gain a fuller understanding until you resolve them. hopefully to wake up....or is even that that just part of the loop?

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The Game and music concept is about a waking dream, trying to come up out of it, but not really knowing how or even if you're in a dream. "Inside my world", as everything about it is inside you, and the image, as you are trying to come up for air out of you repeating reverie. Also The song "Fugue state" is also a fugue the melody having 2 iterations and the bass 2 to create that sense or repetition

Fugue State, An Air For Air (this one is my favourite) - love the calming airy feeling. Did you record a live piano?

Ad Astra Celtica - I like the percussion here and uneasy feeling the progression gives.

Very nice composition and mixing, I like it very much that all the elements are audible and are complementing each other perfectly. The pieces are bright and refreshing and have some nostalgic feeling. Great work! :)

Thank you! No i played the piece but recorded it via midi back into the DAW, then I put some swelling echoes, and some large but gentle reverb to give to that spacey feel, then chose 2 different mic positions in the VST which seems to give it a more natural sound than a single position mic. Really glad you enjoyed them!

Thank you for sharing your process :) the piano is indeed spacey and wide, nice idea with 2 mics!

I loved the percussion in Ad Astra Celtica

Taiko Drums! They just sound amazing, its almost cheating if you want to do sombre but epic pieces. Glad you enjoyed them!

Great job on creating such a unique and cohesive set of tracks. My favorite one was Fugue State!

So... First of all: you have a great avatar in Soundcloud

Secondly: It was a pretty beautiful, experimental and... very underwater soundtrack. Heh)

Thank you, since Im from the Caribbean, its basically a legal requirement to represent the turtle diaspora in a profile pic! And thank you for the kind words on the music ,whats itch for it not to experiment!

Wow! An actual fugue! My soundtrack has classical elements too but not nearly on this level. Good work :D

It was a fun self challenge, as soon as i thought of the name "fugue state" for the game, I knew I had to at least try to make one

Your Fugue State track had a fun (yet somewhat dark) vibe to it that was very interesting! I like the way you use ambience to help tell your story instead of just leaving it all to melody and harmony. Thanks for sharing, nice one!

Really liked Fugue State, nice work with call/response patterns and making a simple theme appear repeatedly, just like a fugue! Neat bubble effects in An Air for Air, fits the theme. I like how subtle it is. Very cool rhythm in Ad Astra Celtica, sounds like music to go exploring a huge world/wilderness. Nice job!

I'm such a sucker for the dance of piano and strings and that first track really nailed it for me. An Air for an Air sticks out to me, too. The amount of subtle low sounds add a lot of character to it! I can tell that you really took your time with these tracks. Great work! <3

I like the unsettling moments in the orchestration. It's peaceful only on the surface :)

This was an interesting listen! Each of the tracks sound unique but still manage to fit together. I really like An Air for Air personally - the percussion has a lot of subtleties to it and the supporting instrumentation is riding the balance of sitting in the background just enough to prop up the other elements without drowning them out. Good work!

I'm so glad you think so, I got a bit too deep into the mix level, where sometimes your ears plays trick on you, so its a relief to hear you say that
