Description
When I saw the prompt, I was immediately hit with JRPG vibes and I used that genre's music as inspiration for what I created, blended with my specialization of orchestral music and EDM.

My submission includes a main theme, a menu theme, an area theme, and 3 boss themes (2 with adapted "thinking" variations that play while selecting an attack)

The (for lack of a better nickname) "Eel" boss is encountered early game and is somewhat of a "tutorial" boss, where the player is getting used to the battle system.

The Rune Guardian is a machine-like monster made of stone that dwells inside a cavern, guarding a key item needed for progression.

The Scourge of the Mind is the Big Bad Evil Guy. I wanted the theme to capture the main character's optimism in battle.

Message from the artist
That's my concept that I composed along with my soundtrack. I really hope you all enjoy it.

-Mauricio

(Yes, this message is also on the game page. Wasn't sure I'd get the opportunity to put it here as well, sorry about that!)

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The underwater sense gave me a vision for the areas and bosses I would conceptualize, and my work on this soundtrack takes inspiration from JRPG titles, which fit the mood of the artwork. The word prompt inspired names of the soundtrack and of the final boss.

You've got the JRPG thing absolutely down, and I did enjoy the two different forms of the boss themes as well - I can imagine them overlapping seamlessly. Clever stuff, really enjoyed the listen! Great work!

Big fan of BOSS Rune Guardian. Loved it when the bells came in a little over halfway through.

I think if I have 1 criticism its that the chimes in BOSS Eel play the melody at one point but because oh how much they echo it gets muddied for a bit.

Hey, is that a long soundtrack? I LOVE LONG SOUNDTRACKS!!!1!

Mind Me - Mind... majestic, full of strangeness, mystery, and extraterrestrial beauty.... What is the unimaginably beautiful thing that lurks in our minds?

Main Menu - Welcome to my world. Do you like it? I hope so. It's fun, if you'd like to take a closer look at the local interior.

BOSS Eel - Heh, love your instrumentation! Synthesizers, echoing bells and a rocking beat? Awesome!

BOSS Eel (Thinking) - Time to think...

Static Valley - This is the perfect theme for walking through highly developed locations with big cities (or ghettos, lol).

BOSS Rune Guardian/ (Thinking) - OH YES! BREAKCORE...or breakbeat, I don't know about genres :_). Dynamics, synthesizers and damn I love those little “breaks” between dynamic parts.
BOSS Scourge of the Mind - Heh, this gives off a majestically Undertale atmosphere (Damn Toby Fox, he subverted all the melodicism and now every such track is associated with Undertale). Dynamically? Yes. A beautiful “recreation” with cinematic drums? Awesome!!! Majestic? You bet!

Overall, I think you got a great soundtrack for a game with rhythmic boss battles..... Awesome! I like your approach to the technical part: you made two versions of the soundtracks each). Well done!

Amazing work! The bass goes so hard, love it.

the drum and bass elements of this soundtrack are what really made this an entertaining listen, the drum sample selection was so clean and satisfying.  i'm surprised how well the bbc symphony orchestra instruments weaved in with it too, for some reason i'd just never tried using that with dnb stuff.

Wow, this sounds like professional work with a lot of heart put into it. Great stuff!

Enjoyed it a lot, loved the use of the main motiv in a different harmonisation from first to 2nd.

Was surprised by the direction you took aswell. Mixing acoustic with electronic is cool.

I think you will gain a lot from a better mix when you have so much distincts elements like that.

+1 for the little sax x)

I really enjoyed how I could feel a similar theme / continuity from the first track to the second.
I also really enjoyed how you took away elements in your arrangement inbetween more intense sections (e.g. 0:50 in Rune Guardian). It made those subsequent sections more impactful.

My constructive criticism would be to add more "expression" automation to things like sustained brass and string parts (e.g. 0:50 of Mind Me) to add movement to the held note.

Overall, I really enjoyed listening!
