Retro 3d platformer/Zelda inspired soundtrack, the tracks represent different worlds, plus a song for a shop where you buy items and a theme for cutscenes with the villain. I used FL Studio to create the songs

Oh... Is it a long soundtrack? ahem... I LOVE LONG SOUNDTRACKS!!!1!

Mr. Dream killer - TUN TUN TUN DRUMS!!! It sounds like something jazz-funky... I've loved your soundtrack from the very beginning! (The drums sound like someone is banging on a cardboard box, heh)

Mysterious Shop Theme - I already understand that you have made a very diverse soundtrack in terms of styles... The Arabic sound? Snake sounds? Percussion? Will the seller sell me a camel?)

Tutorial World - Heh, it's time to learn something new! Will I learn to hold a sword in my hands? And to conjure? And summon snakes, like the ones he threatened me with

Centipede Caverns - Yoohoo! It's cave time! It sounds very good... It's creepy. But... Can I be honest? My left ear is tired because of this "flute-like" sound. There is too much of it... (Try to either use it a little less often, or change the ear in which it sounds) And so - a creepy, but at the same time magical ambient with good use of various water effects!

Forest Ruins is a time of mysterious but cheerful forests! (Damn, I love the melody of this flute)

Mystical Swamp - Heh... I love swamps! (Picture with Shrek). It still sounds beautiful, ambient and atmospheric! Nature sounds still work well

Sunset Oasis is a very relaxing track (I just wanted to lie on the water for it, heh)

Too Hot Desert - OH, I FELT THE HEAT OF THE DESERT! (and I still love your percussion, huh)

Mountaintop is THE WIND!!1!

Evergreen Valley - It sounds like I want to walk through a beautiful garden, where there are many beautiful decorations, birds and flautists

Dreamkiller Factory Is Good... it was an unusual 0_o. A combination of a distinctly jazzy element, creepy ambient and.. I don't even know what to call it, heh)

Final Boss - YOOHOO! IT'S TIME FOR THE FINAL BOSS! We have been walking towards him for so long, overcoming a lot of obstacles, enemies and locations, that I want to DESTROY the boss! (And why does it sound like I'm fighting a ghost:?)

Overall, I really liked your soundtrack. You have made a full-fledged soundtrack for the game in a short time! Cool!

Mr. Dreamkiller: Your lead instrument really captures the N64 sound and works well to capture the style of the game you had in mind. The vibe of this first track feels cool but also with a hint of uncertainty.

Mysterious Shop Theme: Oh I really like the use of percussion in this one to create a lonely wanderer type of vibe. I would expect to find some rare dusty items in this mysterious shop!

Tutorial World: I love that your melodies are easily singable - this helps them be catchy and memorable! This track makes me feel like I’m at the beginning of an adventure and I still need to figure out how to play. This is a creative track to include!

Centipede Caverns: Changing gears now, going into the creepy cave. Despite the low muddled sound to invoke mystery and dread, I find it interesting that you chose to write this in a major key. That makes me think that the centipedes can’t be that bad!

Forest Ruins: I really like how the shimmery pads, the xylophone, and the main flute work together to create a Donkey Kong-like vibe. I think the energy becomes motion once the bass and kick drum come in. I really like this track and it is probably my favorite of all of them!

Mystical Swamp: Crickets and frogs are the perfect backdrop for this area. There are some similarities I hear from this track with the Banjo-Kazoorie swamp music. Maybe it’s the use of a plucked instrument as the main melody and the use of blue notes as passing tones?

Sunset Oasis: This area feels quite relaxing. The kick drum feels like maybe it’s not as relaxing as it might seem.

Too Hot Desert: This is dark and exotic, perfect for a desert mood! I like the structure of this one since the A section and B sections are quite different harmonically but work well next to each other. I like that the A section builds throughout as well!

Mountaintop: The use of wind sound effects and then wind chimes is a neat effect. It was smart to include a more ambient piece as a variation from the structure used from the other tracks.

Evergreen Valley: With the bells, you have created a very magical quality for this track. In addition to a dense and misty forest, this track also invokes the image of walking by tide pools at night time.

Dreamkiller Factory: This is a nice and classic mario-style final world. Very industrial and dramatic with the organ throughout. The brass was a surprise for me, but I think it’s a great melody to go along with the organ and drums!

Final Boss: I really like the melody in the organ/mallet instrument(s)! It is dark implying danger, but the rock rhythm gives it battle energy pumping me up to fight! What a great final track to round out a very complete OST!

Overall: I think your selection of instruments and your use of percussion are your strengths in creating so many different worlds for the main character to travel to. There is so much variety here while all still sounding like they are from the same game. Well done and thank you for sharing!

Nice tunes! I like the ideas and instrumentation for the areas presented, but the composition itself for each track feels a bit repetitive, I think that happens because there's not much variation with the harmony like with chords. Going with a chord progression could help with adding variety to the track. 

Overall I liked the OST, and it is quite impressive to have made this many tracks for many distinct areas too! My favorite one being Forest Ruins (World 2), it's catchy and fun to listen to!

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely was working pretty quick so I'd agree there's less variety than I'd want if I were actually composing an OST without a strict time limit, part of the repetition is just the old school style I was imitating, but I like the suggestion of using chord progressions.

I know that I will comment on an OST when I start thinking "there's no way this peep started to compose this before the time limit!". Assuming that you did - this is not an OST for a jam, this feels like a finished work for a fully fleshed out game. 

Centipede Caverns is a song that carries so much personality, you almost didn't need to title it. I personally love clunky instruments with texture. Using them takes skill and patience since they are full of detail, but you created a theme with them that feels whole and precise, like the dancing notes take breaks to allow the player to slash enemies in a lonely and dangerous environment.

Evergreen Valley is such a living tune. The composition, the marimba protagonist, the sickly wailing background synth, it is excellent. I like how the tune starts sad but shifts to playfully ominous. It has all the traits of a true theme.

I personally wish the rest of the OST would have had more of oddly sounding instruments like the two tracks I liked, but if I were a judge, those two tracks would be finalists.

Wow, thanks for the kind words! I really did compose it within the jam's time frame. My goal was to make a complete OST, so I'm glad that's the impression it gave you. I've been surprised by how many people I've shown it to mention Evergreen Valley as a favorite, I didn't expect that.

The jazzy songs were amazing, love the drumming on Mr. Dreamkiller. But the favorite track must be Evergreen Valley because of it's textures and instruments

This is a lot of music, and there's quite a bit of variety in here! It definitely makes me nostalgic for those classic N64 era soundtracks. Good job!
