Description
These tracks were inspired by contemporary composers such as Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Their geometric approach to music felt fitting to the image of this game jam, that of clocks raining down from the sky in a large empty void. I can imagine the clocks all ticking at different speeds creating a cacophony of rhythms. For my imaginary video game, the character must navigate themselves out of the dimension shown in the image where time has no meaning. The first track "Timeless" is the main menu music for this game introducing the instrumentation of the soundtrack and setting the initial mood. The celesta would play a pivotal role in the complete soundtrack with its delicate tone perfect for a lullaby. The second track "The Past, The Future, and The Now" plays when time starts moving again and the dimension takes the character through a montage of their life's happiest moments from the past to the future. All the instruments used for the soundtrack are playing harmoniously to emphasize the resolution of the game.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
Both tracks incorporate repetitive musical patterns and polyrhythms similar to Philip Glass and Steve Reich. This is how I imagine the person sitting atop the hourglass hears the clocks raining down around them.

Timeless: I really like the idea that the clocks are raining down around the character in the image. There is a sweetness to this piece that is balanced by some uneasiness at times that I think works well to take us out of linear motion. The sound of the strings over the marimba is absolutely heavenly.
The Past, The Future, and The Now: The different lengths of the arpeggiation in the piano gives the illusion that time is being distorted which works well if this montage is not necessarily a linear collage of moments in a person’s life. I think this sound captures the feeling of the picture theme well. Great work and thank you for sharing!
I love this. Apart from many other submissions this has the soul and a lot of emotions in it. :)
Good work, sounds perfectly as bgm, and melodies are melancholic... nice.
The geometric approach works very well, it does fit the theme. In the second part, the arpeggio is a bit lost when the strings come in, I kinda missed hearing it. But overall it's a very good composition!
So cool! I really like the arpeggios! The Past, the Future and the Now feels so majestic. Well done!
Very cool harmonies here with lots of modal interchange and some beautiful rhythms. Second track is very pretty, gives me a sort of "running in the fields" vibe, love the percussive instruments carrying arpeggios. Great work!
Love the sound. I feel the instruments fit perfectly and work together. I felt a mix between magic/cutness/timeless/nostalgic. Really good work!
Could really hear the Phililp Glass influence. Loved the warm sound of the instrumental arrangement. Really professional and tastefully done. Good job!
