Description
I used the picture and the theme "Wish upon a star" combined to inspire me. I think on a game of a man lost in the sea who has to use the light of the stars to survive. So I compose 3 tracks.
- Track 1: Guiding Light
This is the main theme of the game, here is presented the leitmotif (first screenshot), a two bars melody in C Lydian, each bar ends with the notes F sharp and B giving the sensation of no resolving, this is to give the lost feel of the character. Is an ambient soundtrack with orchestal elements. The melody og the bells represents the stars helping our character
- Track 2: Surviving
I made this track thinking on a part of the game that has adventure, like if the character has to catch food and dodge threats. Here the leitmotif (second screenshot) is the same melody but an octave higher and played in triplets. Above the melody is a bass melody that repeats each three times, with the melody in 4 it creates a polyrhythm that gives the sensation of instability. This has a faster tempo than the main track since it is thinked for a adventure theme
- Track 3: The End
This track is for when the character dies and the game is lose. Is the second bar of the leitmotif with the notes inverted, played with the bells that represent the stars, after the melody the instrument fades away representing the character dying.
All the tracks was composed on the Logic Pro X Daw
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
To compose the soundtrack I imagine a game of a character lost in the sea (picture theme), that has to survive with the light of the stars ("wish upon a star")

Great composition skills! This was really fun to listen, you managed to precisely convey the ideas you wanted in each track! Great job I particularly liked your second track and the percussions and melodies you used went super well with the atmosphere you were going for. Great entry!
I really liked the intro to the track Surviving, it really gave the track a sense of urgency which really hit the theme of what the track represents in your game idea. Overall, well done!
This was great! I feel like it's something that's easily overlooked but the reverb in these tracks felt particularly designed. I noticed it on track 1 with the guitar and the piano at the end - the reverb on each sounds different but it creates a great atmosphere to have that long tail on the guitar and the more mellow and warm reverb sound to the piano. I think your point to make track one not end with a super proper resolution came across really well, and the polyrhythm on track 2 was quite striking. Overall, great stuff!
Great job! I love the mood and sparkle to Guiding Light. You built a great sound world using a lot of lovely synths and instruments that worked really well together.
Nice guitar touch on the last part of Guiding light! This song has a good tension bouncing between these two chords, it certainly gives uncertainty to the character/player.
The percussions and playful piano exploding at 23 sec in Surviving feels very adventurous! Good job on that. It stays in tune with previous track very well :)
Guiding Light: I love the synth layers and the piano ripples. The simple motif is very intriguing as well and creates a sense of wonder among the minor chord usage. The emerging electric guitar with lots of reverb is a perfect addition to the already fantastic instrumentation.
Surviving: This is my favorite of your 3 tracks. The 3/4 feel with the use of the castanets gives this track a sea-faring vibe for sure and the bass at 0:23 definitely gives a sense of adventure. Your orchestration is phenomenal and so many instruments/layers meld together so well. I also love the repeat of the motif and use of polyrhythms. This is a really awesome track!
The End: This lose stinger is ghostly and dark in a way that conveys a seriousness and finality while still sounding connected to the rest of your OST. Stingers are an important part of video game composition, yet they are an underrated skill to have. I appreciate that you shared one in your OST which definitely adds to your creativity category in my opinion! Thank you so much for sharing!
Really enjoyed it.
Really cool usage of the leitmotifs! I love the atmosphere the first track creates, super magical!
the music really paints the picture of the story you are telling here, and fits the theme wonderfully!
Guiding Light: Nice and calm, I love the guitar towards the end.
Surviving: Magical vibe here, too. Nice percussion work, paints a vivid picture.
The End: Not the end I was hoping for, ha! Great twist.
