Description
I wanted to musically tell the story of a girl who was warned not to go into the forest by someone who had been in and seen bad things.

Track 1 - little girl how are you today
- it start with a innocent instrument playing a haunted melody symbolizing the darkness in the girl and the evil of the forest

- Track 2 - dont go into the forest
- I wanted there to be a a feeling of shaking leaves and general unrest - I achieved this by using granular sound design and by rendering my midi instruments to audio and pitch shifting them to give a sense of unreality.

Track 3 - the trees all look like people
- I wanted this to be a frantic horror piece. It was originally written in a complicated time signature, then rendered out and manipulated to give a sense of anxiety.

Track 4 Bad Things live there
- I wanted this track to be the breaking down of the forest, for me that was it being being turned electronic and distorted.

Everything was composed between Ableton Live and FL.

Theme:

Runaway
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I felt like the forest distorted peoples perception of what the world was - I did this by recording in live instruments and manipulating them to make them sound unreal.

Wow. Excellent sound design.

Little Girl How Are You Today - Oh wow, that is so creepy. Especially with that title :D. The sound design in this is superb. Together with the melody it creates a very unsettling picture.

Dont Go Into The Forest - Another layer of creepiness. I feel this could easily be set to a show or a movie as well as a game. It's really effective at conveying a mood.

The Trees All Look Like People - Oh christ :D. This one really is a highlight for me. The title, in combination with the music immediately makes my heart jump with a bit of dread. Again, stellar sound design.

Bad Things Live Here - Oh man, every time I think you've scared me enough you up the ante! I wasn't expecting to be longing back for the days of "Little Girl How Are You Today", but man... :D

Overall, an extremely effective soundtrack with some amazing sound design. I really like how each track seemed to up the stakes and makes things even more creepy. My favourite track was probably track 3.

Wow the bartok pizz in song 3. So crispy and crunchy I love it. Oh and very scary too!

I really loved your approach to the theme.  One thing that I love, appart from the already nice musical composition itself, is how much detail you put into each single sound and layer.  The edition and elaboration process of the sound really fitted the theme and that's something i really liked it.

Love the frantic feel of the third track, gives me Hollow Knight vibes. Love how it progressively gets darker and darker.

Great use of fingerpicking, slide guitar, and mini elements. I love how atmospheric and dark these are! Nice work!

It sounds very lively. Very suitable for the theme and image. That's cool

This is a nicely packaged box of anxiety! Which I think is exactly what you were going for

Hi! Here's my quick impressions and how I pictured your soundtrack!

Track 1: Little Girl, How are you today ?

We can clearly see something that is distant, lurking, something that might be a danger in the near future but still not taken seriously.

Track 2: Don't go to the Forest

Now, we begin to understand what's really going on. The feeling of "unrest" you're describing is setting, letting the place for a more obscure, horrific experience.

Track 3: The trees look like people

My favorite. This sense of sureality, the panic of something you don't really understand. I can see how you originally wanted to have a weird time signature. I clearly felt that tension you built up!

Track 4: Bad things live here

My least favorite, I feel like it's very different to the rest. But taken alone, I like those distorded sounds but I don't feel in the forest you described *musically* in the previous tracks.

Overall: that was great! I feel like there could have been a much clearer and 'coherent' progression between all the tracks. But they all suggest a step of horror/runaway different and that's cool :)

That's some really beautiful music! "The Trees Look Like People" -- I especially like all the strings going all sorts of ways. It's a great effect and builds some great tension. There's such a nice finish to the music, too.
