Description
I pictured a Zelda and Earthbound-inspired game and tried to capture a 90s/2000s Nintendo kind of vibe. I imagined a game where a character is forced to leave their home and explores various dark environments and meets mysterious characters.

Track 1 -- A pre-title cutscene showing various adventure moments

Track 2 -- Title screen/nostalgic hometown memories theme

Track 3 -- Exploring mysterious woods

Track 4 -- Meeting a helpful but strange marionettist

Track 5 -- A fanfare

Each track was made in FL Studio. I sampled some of my real instruments (ukulele, Korg Prologue, etc.) and sequenced some parts on an early 2000s Yamaha keyboard for a gamey feel.

Theme:

Runaway
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The picture inspired me to try to write Zelda-like compositions. The theme "runaway" inspired me to write music following a loose narrative about leaving a familiar setting and experiencing new mysteries.

This brought back memories of games from my childhood :')

Very happy songs with a very successful atmosphere, great!

Oh man, this sounds really happy! You really captured that Nintendo feel! I loved the sweepy dream-like pads in Stage 1, but it did feel like it struck a slightly different tone than the rest of the soundtrack. When it opened, I almost got a Boards of Canada vibe from it for a second. I could imagine that could fit a dream sequence though. Would really depend on what the game was trying to do at that point.

And haha, that fanfare is great!

Man, you really nailed the mood on this one. Really well done!

I loved this! If you told me these were tracks from Super Mario Sunshine I wouldn't know any better. The mid section of of track 4 really gets the Zelda vibes you mention (those deep, sampled strings!) The execution of style is really impressive throughout.

I agree with another user that track 3 feels out of place. I would also lightly criticize the relevance to theme—I get a light-hearted taste of intrigue from this, rather than a runaway or full adventure. These small remarks aside, I thought this was superb.

The quirky Nintendo game vibes definitely come through in this soundtrack! Great sample choices and mixing too, really nicely done.

This is so Nintendo's way to do things! 😁 Very fun! Congratulations.

These tracks really run wild with creativity. The friendly marionette Really reminds me of the toybox music from Paper Mario! This stuff is great!

Wow this is really nice !
Track 3 feels a little out of place but is nice on its own

Your fanfare doing a I - IV is a bit frustrating, my ears want to hear the whole I - IV - V - I, I also could like the classic victory cadence ( i - VIb - VIIb - I )
