Reminds me the coursework project I had to do for 3D graphics back when I was at university and we had to do a simple game with multiple planets. But you did it in a few days, rather than a few weeks!  Good work.

Developer

totally understandable! math can be tricky especially when dealing with spherical coordinates and orbital mechanics(mine was a simple constant force facing the small planet). thanks a lot for your feedback (:

I love how this game looks!

Developer

thanks =)

Good smooth movement - nicely done. What you thinking you might do next with this?

for this codejam i wanted to keep things simple(MVP-like app i guess?) so that i could submit the project in time. what slowed down the progress was mostly constraining a shape to move around a sphere, and even that isn't finished either; if you reach one of the sphere's poles the shapes start vibrating lol.

now that the jam is finished, i was thinking about turning it into something more interactive like adding mini-games... you wait in a lobby with other shapes for 20-something seconds, you spawn in the minigame and earn points.  thanks a lot for your feedback :D

Sounds like a great plan. Good luck!

thanks alot (:

A fine demo! I noticed some quirks in the movement, when holding down multiple movement keys. Other than that, a great example of 3D software! I also adore the presentation, a fake mini-window inside a canvas! Very novel!

ooh yes, i didn't want to stagnate so i focused more on finishing it, so "small' adjustments were second priority. i also would need to fix adjusting the key arrows since i noticed that when you're on a different planet(e.g the pink/orange-ish one), the Up key makes the shape move to the right lol, plus when a shape is at one of a planet's poles. thanks a lot for your feedback, i appreciate it !! (:

It ran very smoothly. This is a demo, not so much a game?

Developer

yes, for now all you can do is move a shape around small planets accompanied by other autonomous shapes. i didn't have time to make it into a game with various enemies, levels etc. so since this is my first time participating at a code jam, i decided that the demo is sufficient for the jam. when i get the controls right and other bugs, i can turn it into a game! thanks a lot for your feedback (:

Your design choices are spot-on! Very smooth, well done, simply briliant!
