Wow great job! The game was very well put together and felt more complete than most jam games I've played. You did a remarkable job pulling together assets that work together. I didn't have time to finish it, but I fully intend to come back later and play all the way through!

Thank you so much for the kind comment!

Absolutely loved the game, but i ran out of ammo and now i can't figure out how to reload, is there a controls page because i'm an idiot and cant find the reload button, games amazing though and the music is stunning!

If you hit [Tab] you’ll be teleported to the ship. On the second floor there is a control index. Thanks for playing!!

Music by DOS-88. Really good stuff!

Damn, this is pretty well made and big for a game jam game! I kind of like the natural playstyle of "kill what you have to - avoid everything else" that it encourages, fits the space exploration theme well. One thing that I found a little annoying was that you have to hold space for the full animation to run, kind of hard to adapt to from other games where a single press suffices. The place where I died a bunch and quit was after you find Ensign Victor there is a 2 ledge jump portion and a wizard at the end. I kill the wizard and try to make the jump but get hit in the face by a ledge right above the one I'm trying to make it to and fall to my death. Might be associated with the jump mechanic that I couldn't quite figure out? Anyways, great game, 5/5 for most except innovation, but I believe you weren't going for that. :D

Thank you so much for playing and feedback! Yes, the platforming is lacking. I decided to try using Box2d, which is why you get the slippery floors :p

The torches are checkpoints (undocumented) so that’s pretty much it for saving unfortunately.

I really appreciate the feedback.

Your game reminds me of Flashback and Heart of Darkness as platformers go,  I like the pixelated graphics. The music is reminiscent of the 80s, i can feel the Atari vibe. The platformer element is done well even if the controls of the game are different from what I'm usually using, but i managed to navigate ok. I would liked to have different kind of friction for the platforms. The drift on all the surfaces kept making me fall to my death a lot. I wanted a save or at least a save point before i died. Also I like when i can go through the cutscenes at my own pace. Waiting for it to finish, took some time. The mouse clicks don't work for me very well and if I used Space that skips the cutscenes entirely. I enjoyed the setup of your game, cool idea. I love to see more of it. Best of luck!

Thank you! I found all the assets and was pleasantly surprised with the results of them working together. Yes, the platforming is a bit tricky at points, but in the end I thought it worked out okay for using a physics engine.

The music is by DOS-88. Really good stuff.
