I really like this! I played for way to long lol. I wanna see more of this, please develop further if you can! Combining gacha with tower defence I think is a great idea and I love bloons so I found this addicting. I will say the controls were really hard to get a handle on, and I felt I was having to move my hands all across the keyboard. If this had mouse controls it would be so much smoother to play. And some sfx to help, but it was fun without which is a good sign. Also very cute art! Well done! OUG 🐵

Thank you so much! If we did continue with this project, making the controls simpler is the the first thing we would do!

Wow, really enjoyed this and I loved the gacha mechanic! I think things maybe could have been a bit better explained but I can tell you put a lot of effort into the mechanics in such a short period of time and sometimes there just isnt enough time to build a tutorial haha. I would have liked the phases to be a bit more seperate, one for building and one attacking. I think if the gacha mechanic was fleshed out alongside it so that you cycled through each star or had all of them avaialble and could cycle through the players it would encourage more strategy (slightly ruining the gacha) but some form to give you more strategy. I found myself placing a few aethels and then just spamming for bubi so I would never lose and ended up making it to a late wave. I think having to cycle around and refill each out the ammo on the gacha toys was really good as it kept the chaos up and me moving around. I think one last thing, is that I wish there was a win screen or some kind of ending, even if it ended up being a little arbirtray and then the ability to go to endless mode. Overall, this has to be one of my favorite games, I had a great time with it, nice job!

Wow thank you so much for the kind words!

Controls were impossible to figure out without going to your comment here. Loved the gacha idea, but it seemed like balance was a bit out, i got bubi towers and just immediately never had to worry again. Also, there really wasn't much cycling included. still a fun game, loved the artstyle!

Hi Fellow tower game, seems like you all had the same idea we did but implemented it entirely different which is really nice. Its assume how many towers you guys got done too. Controls like everyone else mentioned were very difficult. I Kept trying over and over and some how seemed to get the towers out but didnt actually know how.

Up on the arrow key to get them out and then up again to place them. You must place them on grass and with enough space. To cancel building, down on the arrow keys. To interact with towers to upgrade, press E when next to them

It was really fun to play. Always wanted to make a tower defense game with gacha mechanics. I wish you implement more cycling things in the game, but it's still good. Also music was pretty good

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe we were a little too ambiguous with the cycling element, beyond Connor literally riding a bike. The reason why the towers are plushies is because Connor always buys plushies for Ironmouse. He did the Cyclethon for the IDF that supports people with the same disease as Ironmouse. So, in our game, he cycles around and buys plushie towers to help Ironmouse. Furthermore, the reason the towers are friends of Ironmouse and Connor is because he had many friends help out in the Cyclethon and other charity events.

Final state of my game before I quit (wouldn't let me send), I'd say I won lol. Wave 30 btw. Really fun, but needed the theme involved more. Really unique tho. As everyone has mentioned the controls are rough to get used to. Also would have liked to see a way to get back to the menu or quit (I didn't get to add that to my own game tho lol). Music wasn't bad but felt kinda repetitive. Also was decently easy once I got a hang of it. Heck I completely lost the first wave (I couldn't figure out how to get guys and place ;-;) and still didn't die. Also really fun art. Good game, but not fit for the theme really

Controls took me a bit to get the hang of but it was fun after that. I also love the character art.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for giving it chance, even with the controls lol

I like the idea of a tower defence game with gacha. It reminds me of TFT. The game does feel a bit too easy though and it got boring after a while.

Also the bicycling portion of the game feels a bit forced just to fit the theme of the game jam.

Really fun game! i love Tower Defence! The Art design is really cute aswell and the skill are fitting for our loved characters! :D Even some Gacha! The only down side are the controls

Developer

Glad you noticed the time we put into having unique skills for each tower!

Glad I checked the controls first! ;p Did feel like a QWOP type game trying to remember all the buttons but it was a nice idea combining gatcha mechanics with a tower defense. Unique and cute!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

After reading a few comments prior to playing, I had the controls open while playing and though I still needed some time to adjust to them, the game was quite fun! I like the idea, that you buy packs in a tower defense game, havn't seen it before, but adds some good amount of randomness and fun 😊!

Thank you for the feedback!

Once i got past the hurdle of the controls i had a really good time! the character art and UI is really well done and I liked that all your guys slowly expire so you have to keep on top of selling and renewing them

Submitted(+1)

I managed to slowly figure out the controls haha. Nice job, I found just spam buying to get Bubis was the most effective strategy haha

Developer

Yeah, we probably should have made him harder to get lol

Really cute game but the controls are terrible. I'm not sure if it bugged on me or I was just doing it wrong but after I bought units (it showed a number above their icons) I had to press up to select them and then placing them down with E. It worked for the first 2 then I couldn't place anything else down. Very confusing.

Submitted(+1)

I was able to place units by pressing up arrow to show where to place them, and then up arrow again to confirm it. But yeah was a bit confusing
