This is such a great concept. Immediately tickled my brain and went "Oh. ooooh" this is silly fun, and nice artwork!

SUPERB! I loved this and IM SO GLAD SOMEONE DID A TOADMAN GAME. It's such a wild bit of folklore I found too late to add.
But very polished, very fun and quite forgiving which is great for the people playing at the forum. (I played there at first, some machines have more horses on screen than FPS! I finished it despite that because it was so fun.)
Fun dialogue and charming sprite work too! Great job!
Thank you so much! Slay the spire definitely was an inspiration (it has my brain in a chokehold it's so fun) I actually think I underestimated the difficulty making a card combat game and ran out of time to flesh out the enemies and add more rounds, and also getting animations for the spells. Turns out that's a lot...
Anyway thank you! ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ👍
YO this is really good, it scratches that deck builder itch. 😁 I'd love to see a full version of this! You clearly have focused on what was important to make the game fun and playable in the short time (I hear you got sick, I hope you feel better soon!). I kinda love the ms paint drawings anyways lol.
I did find the most difficult setting a little impossible, but I was trying very hard to get mouse her plasma so maybe thats why. I think the enemy just before mouse ramps up their damage a little too fast perhaps? Or maybe I just need to git gud 😫
Also, I'm mad that I've made a progression/map like yours before, for a previous jam, and didn't think to pre-make it as a set map. I built a whole randomiser for the jam, where I could of done something else with the time😭so well done for not doing that...
NICE! Well done on your first game! I hope you enjoyed Godot and making this, because it was fun to play too! Nice choice of assets, they go well together and I love that you used Kenney's stuff (He's like an asset god, highly recommend for prototyping and jams).
I see from other comments you're planning to update it and I think that's a great idea, its so useful to have 'a project' you can try stuff out with and it ends up getting better as you do. I look forward to seeing it!
Great work!
Love this! Feels nice, polished and I adore the style. Giving vampire survivors and OG Zelda vibes so nice repetitiveness but there's still an objective. Difficult but it never feels like its the games fault which (at least I find) hard to get right in a short time so well done!
Also I want a game boy that runs godot games now
This is so sweet! Classic gameplay and very smooth. I love these backgrounds, wonderful colours! Does not feel like a first solo venture. (And I've totally done this on long journeys, maybe at an older age than id like to admit haha!)
I also appreciate the subtitles (closed captions? idk the correct term for sfx) at the end, they can be really important for some people!
Great job!
OMG I love it. Just great and I can tell you had fun making it. Beans might be my fav lil guys, the audible gasp as I threw one out the window and another train zoomed across the screen leaving not a trace :O
(also did one of them try to give me a Greggs slice? ngl I'd let them on if they gave me that :D)
HIIII IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT! I thought I recognised your name! You made the gorgeous Norfolk folk story game! (Try saying that 3x fast). Also yes this is meant to be turn based, if it wasn't I guess we found another bug haha 😭
Love seeing returning devs too (I haven't had a chance to properly play all the games yet but from the glimpse I saw earlier in the week, I very much look forward to yours!) 👍
Thank you again!
WONDERFUL! Love everything about this! Feels like the good old days of miniclip and flash games. Top notch pixel art and great use of all of Mouse's models. Fun gameplay and felt like placement actually matters. Upgrades were meaningful and fun when you stack 3 of the same. Lots of enemy variation, loved the big fat ones hehe. Maybe something to improve is the 'uniqueness' of the units, like how they act making them even more specialised. Would love to see even more units too!
This game got the sauce fr 🐭👍
