I had some issues playing the game. Entering the store seems to be allowed only from top or left while pushing the player into a direction and hitting the button. In the store I bought the first item for 1 - 45 was removed from my credits, but my inventory was empty. Maybe I found a dishonorable seller there. :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I will get that patched when I get home :), as for the dishonourable seller, I'll report them to trading standards!  So you bought the cheapest item and didn't actually get it? Hmm

Submitted

Yes, it was really strange. Will try again with the next update.

Developer

Please do, don't want any unfair sellers!  I'll likely update it as soon as the voting is over, don't wanna be unfair haha

I love minimal pixel art, and the gameloop has a good foundation on which to build a game. Great.

Developer

I think thats the first ever comment I have had on my gameloop haha.  Thank you :)

This is an interesting little concept, it's not your typical kind of shopping as much as it is a stock market simulator of sorts. I do think a lot could be added though, like more interaction with the terrain, and I think a game like this could benefit from dialog of some sort, to give the world some flavor. Overall, solid idea!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback :).  There is a lot more I intend to add to this, including more uses for the items you buy so they are consumables as well as a commodity, and better terrain generation.

This feels like an unfinished game, because I didn't really know what to do..

Developer

It is an unfinished game unfortunately :(.  I am working on an update to at least make it playable though which I hope to have done later today.  It won't be 100 percent complete but it will have some gameplay at least.  thank you for taking your time to try it though :)

Well, at least you tried and cared. That is the most important thing here in jams. Hope you learned a thing or two and had fun making it too, that is also an important factor to jams. Fun, challenging, rewarding. GL on your future jams :)

Developer

I updated it to a payable version now, old version is still available as per the rules but it might give a better idea of the direction of the game haha.

And I am all too aware of time limitations of the gamejams, unfortunately work takes up more of my time nowadays but I still enjoy this.
