Use of the limitation
1) You're stuck in an elevator, so pretty much immobile. 2) You are trying to catch your Uber, since you don't have a car of your own.

This game ruled. Full of charm, I love the background music -- super chill but also a little bit unsettling. Would love to play a longer version of this!

It was a fun game and held my attention for longer than most the games on this game jam. Discovering the tool and where to use it were great "ah ha" moments. However after that I got pretty stuck and it sounds like a few other people were too. I appreciate your "there's a hint in the comments and on the discord" but I have a choice of 50 other games to play. So I'm moving on as a failure for this one!

Thanks for the play and feedback! Yeah, looking back there were much better options for the code lol. If you want to give it another try.. I added more help text to the emergency button <spoiler>Do the words in orange on the advertisement poster mean anything?</spoiler>

A nice game, though I personally don't think it fits within the limitation as the player moves quite explicitly. I don't know if I just didn't get it, but the code was impossible for me to solve, even with the clue in the comments on the page. Is there a button I have to press to enter the code or is it supposed to work automatically? I don't know what I didn't get.

All that aside, it shows potential though there's definitely a few rough edges. Visually, the colors are too jarring. and either the lack of contrast or shading makes it difficult to distinguish some parts like the icons in the buttons of the elevator. The music was fine but got old fast, the third or fourth loop I got tired of it.

I will be more reserved on the puzzles as I'm not much of a puzzle enjoyer, it takes a specific kind of puzzle for me to really like it and this is not it. However, I can appreciate the effort put into this and if people are liking it then I guess they're fine, though I felt something off I can't quite put to words.

Thanks for the play, feedback, and since you heard the loop a couple times, the time spent! Admittedly the code might have been too obscure :) the door pops open on its own as soon as you dial in the correct code. Of course interpretation of the limitation can be in the eye of the beholder! Funny enough I’ve actually been stuck in an elevator IRL, and it feels pretty immobile!

Loved it! The game was fun to play! I finished it, although had to do it 2 times.

The backing track is awesome! I love how good the disturbing soundtrack makes me unsettled! I don't know if you guys made it from scratch but the dissonance and out of pitch moments in the soundtrack makes it so unsettling!

The puzzle design is also well done! The necessary items to escape are well hidden but not entirely impossible to get. Additionally, the help button really is a good addition especially to those having trouble in some parts of the game.

For my only criticism, the design. I think you guys should have put more time on in-game design because it breaks the surrealism of the game when the elevator looks plain and a solid color, although btw your cover art is really good and your game page is really well made.

Overall, congrats on making a game! This was a 3 day gamejam and a 3D game that's playable and this finished is already an accomplishment by itself. Well done!

Thanks so much for the play and detailed feedback! avndr (not on itch) is the mastermind behind the track and the fx. really came out awesome!

Definitely agree the models need refinement, they’re really only draft state. “time permitting” didn’t happen lol. in fact the only open cards left in the repo are for textures!

It's a really fun game although I wasn't able to get too far... Well done!

Developer

Thanks for the play! Where’d ya get stuck?

If you’re really stuck on the code, there’s a tip in the comments on the game’s page :)

Oh this is a VERY clever escape room. Was able to escape after really racking my brain around all these clues, it took a lot of smart out of the box thinking and connections. Awesome level design with great presentation and a clever spin on the limitation of the jam!

Thanks for the play! I considered changing the code to something else as it seemed too tricky.. you figured the code out though?

Submitted(+1)

I sure did. It was definitely very tricky but it's a puzzle game so this should be expected I'd say

Your puzzle game was a real brain teaser, had me scratching my head in the best way! I'd be thrilled if you could take a stab at my game. Curious to see if it stumps the puzzle master like you!

Developer (1 edit)

Haha, definitely will play yours! Did you escape the elevator? Thanks for the play!

This game is very unique. I got stuck at the colors part and I couldn't figure it out, but I can see that the game is nice and well-thought-out.

:D

Developer

Thanks for the play! Did you figure out the combo lock code?

I wrote the code I saw on the certificate thing but nothing happened, so I think it was wrong. Can you give us a hint with the colors bit, so I can reach the end of the game?

:D

Developer

Sounds like you’re on the right track! The other poster in the elevator might help, there’s some clues that might help with the code.
