That "a-ha" feel when you realize your birds don't die and the whole game is about strategically sacrificing yourself to progress. Really nice concept.

I too had some difficulties around The Great Fall, but nevertheless this game was on point with the limitation and had a great concept! The atmosphere felt like something that would've been on a game console back in the day. Nice work!

Submitted(+1)

Probably the most fun use of the limitation. I did experience bugs near The Great Fall where after respawning I would be killed after a short delay. Liked how the tutorial was blended into the level.

Let me know (+screenshot for proof) in this thread if you beat it and I'll update!

Well thought. I just somehow find it unresponsive time to time, I don't know why. Such a perfect play time for a jam game, and nice level design you got there.

Cool game! I really like the idea as well, the fact that the cocks don't actually die when they hit poison, but just switch to the other cock, makes for a fun challenge! The game itself was pretty exhilarating, and the artstyle and music is very cute. All in all was a fun experience, nothin bad about it! Great job! btw my final stats were 72 poison deaths, 11 bird deaths and 5:11 time

This is a nice and simple game with an interesting concept and use of the limitation. However, like others pointed out, the “The Great Fall” part is very hard! Hope you fix the issue soon, but really great game otherwise!

All in all, this is a great game, with great art and mechanics.

Although sometimes hard, the sheer enjoyment of finishing it makes it all the worthwhile. I don’t know if the problems that the other comments are fixed yet, but I can attest to it being beatable. The only (possible?) problem for me is during “The Great Fall”, the run to the first death I think either has a very small window of success or a bug that is fixable by restarting.

Anyways, good job!

The game is enjoyable but hard too :) I liked your style of limitation. The art and level design are awesome. Good job:)

Submitted(+1)

Liked the art for this entry! It was fun to play too but alas the RoboBird was too powerful. I kept dying at that point of the game... 8.5/10 for this game.

Developer

Do you remember which point was it? Was it the one with the "The Great Fall" text? (I'm trying to figure out if that bug was at that same spot for everyone)

The art, as other testers pointed out, was awesome! But there is a difficulty spike slightly after we are told that we can double jump. I think restarting and checkpoints could have been better coordinated except if your game was meant to be very hard. Fun and casual until you get stuck and try to speedrun the thing.

[EDIT] The game is not that hard if you understand the mechanic! Maybe a tutorial or a demo of how to use the green paddles would be useful to players.

Developer

Thanks! Btw, did you encounter any issues with parts that got you hardlocked like the other two commenters did? Or was it possible but just hard?

Submitted

Honestly, I stop playing at the impossible part that was discussed a lot as you mentioned.

Developer

So you did get an impossible part? Oof, I still can't find the issue, everything plays fine on my end on the exported version too... x.x

Submitted (1 edit)

Wow! I replayed your game to check if it was that hard but actually, I managed to finish your game, and it was actually fun now that I have seen the solution from the user yumehiko on his video.

Developer(+1)

Hurray, finally it works for someone! xD thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Liked the art for this entry! It was fun to play too, but after a while I felt like  couldn't progress because the ROBOBIRD would kill me.

Developer

that's weird, do you remember at what point it happened?

Submitted(+1)

Interesting concept. I was able to quickly get used to the rules and controls. However, after some progress, I started to touch ROBOBIRD after about 5 seconds of being revived from a checkpoint, which made it impossible to progress.

Developer(+1)

woops... Do you remember at which part did it happen?

This is a shortcut point before falling into the hole marked THE GREAT FALL. If i wait until the end of the screen darkening before starting, i will have little time to perform the operation. After several attempts, I managed to make it in time by starting the input before the end of the screen darkening (and cleared it. (The record was 3:37.63).

Developer(+1)

did you use the poison pool right before the fall? If yes there should be enough time to move the other to safety too

Submitted

Yes, I used it. Anyway, this point seems to have a particularly short operable time. Perhaps the speed of the darkening may vary depending on the environment. Or maybe this point is more difficult than you assume.

Developer

Yeah seems so... It's weird though because my first version had some places where you got hard-locked, but I had several playtesters who all beat the last version without issues. Sadly I can't fix anything now that the voting period started, but I'll look into it

Submitted(+1)

Here is a video of the actual play.

If the second person comes to the position poison pool position, he is out of this point. In many cases, the moment the first person reaches the poison pool, the ROBOBIRD touches the second person and resets.

Developer

Okay yeah that's a bug, the bird should spawn much farther away

Developer(+1)

the third attempt in that video is how it should always be

Submitted (1 edit)

That's right! The game is definitely possible.
