Cool game, would actually love to see a version without the low res limitations :)

Haha, I loved this! Never played Duelist of the Roses but huge Yugioh fan here. Loved the sound, I was bobbin' to the music the whole time! I'm loving the artwork too. Not sure if you know Slay The Spire but for some reason it gave me those vibes (love the art in that game too). Awesome creativity coming up with this play style for this jam! Well done!

Good job.

The game is fun to play an I love your inclusion of an AI opponent! The artwork on the cards is so adorable and the SFX fit quite well.

The rotating board def reminded me of YuGi-Oh! I like the cards and their illustrations. The overall controls were a bit confusing at first, but I quickly got used to them - if I were to give any feedback maybe mouse controls would help with this kind of game.

The combat animation and overall mood of the game are good, and I like the variety. I think the board could be smaller so it wouldn't be as intimidating at first, but when you get the hang of the game, it all makes sense. It is definitely interesting to see a card / board game in 64x64.

Is there any way to unlock the other board? I couldn't seem to figure it out hehe.

Overall, pretty interesting experience! Good job!

Ty for the feedback!

Yeah, in hindsight I could've made the board a bit smaller to make engagement with the enemy a bit quicker. I'll keep that in mind for future updates which post-jam.

As for if there's any way to unlock additional boards/cards, yes and no. In the code and in the editor, the password system worked fine and included ways to unlock extra content, such as boards, cards, and customizable card colors. But once I built the project out, the system just wouldn't work the way I wanted. I plan on fixing that with future updates, as well.

I'm glad you enjoyed my project!

It took some time to understand what was happening, but I like the concept of the game :)

I won! Don't know how ) Maybe I was just lucky because I don't actually understand gameplay at all, sorry xD Art, though, art is beautiful.

Developer(+1)

Ty for enjoying the art LOL it was my personal favorite aspect of the game, as well.

I'll update the project in the future with a more interactive tutorial/how-to-play sequence to help simplify things

Tysm for playing :)

Wow, I didn’t expect to see a game like this in a game jam.

I had some difficulties at first since I didn’t really understand the many pictures on the map. I thought those were cards but it turned out that does were terrains. I would have preferred a much simpler and maybe smaller map to get into the mechanics.

Developer(+1)

Ty for the feedback :)

I have in my notes to include smaller maps in future updates of the game, along with fully implementing the terrain system. Hopefully it'll all come out very well

A deep game for the a jam submission. Well done. I found the controls a litle difficult at first but after that I was good.
