Did you work in a team?
One-member team, being the programmer, artist, level designer and composer, all at the same time. This jam sure tested my strengths and limits.

Was the resolution a challenge?
One problem I've got was making sprites and tiles visible. With the power of feedback and techniques used by other consoles (eg. Game Boy Advance), I managed to make the sprites stand out. Another problem was making sure the player sees where they go. It's been solved by implementing a moving camera option.

What did you learn?
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn about game development. For the next jam, I will make sure that I have a GOOD plan before starting and keep things SIMPLE, because in this jam I might set my goals a liiittle bit too high :)

I thought the presentation was fantastic. This is definitely one of the best looking and best sounding games I have seen this jam. The presentation is definitely up to the quality of something I would purchase. However, I did have a couple problems with the gameplay that caused me to not get super far. The spider enemies being able to jump upwards through the platforms, knocking me off and making me start completely from the beginning felt extremely unfair. Additionally, while I appreciate the free look feature, some of the off screen jumps felt a little too difficult for how long it takes to get back and retry the jump. Overall, fantastic art and sound worthy of being paid for, but a few game design missteps made it difficult to fully enjoy. With a few small tweaks, you have a really good game on your hands.

Stellar presentation, the opening and level into sequences are so cool. The sounds are extremely polished, and the controlling the jump arc is fluid and predictable. Really nice!

I thought this game’s visuals were very nice! The control scheme was intuitive and I was really enjoying jumping around the map.

My biggest issue with this game was the enemy spiders. After every jump, my jump control resets itself and, if I jump close to a spider, they always hit me. It takes my jump controls too long to adjust to a position to escape. There’s one part in particular where there’s a hanging spider and a ground spider and they BOTH can hit me and I loose so much health because it just takes me too long to adjust my jump to get away.

I could also say that I felt it was unfair that the hanging spiders can not only attack you from above, but can jump up and attack you from below. The game isn’t exactly clear about where I should be going, and there was a point where I thought I was supposed to travel across these solar panels, but one of them had a hanging spider and, no matter where I jumped, that spider always knocked me off.

Beyond my issues with the spiders, though, I thought this was a very nice game! Well done!

Thank you so much for the feedback! 👍

These are some serious issues...
It's clear that some balancing is needed for the enemies and the maps need a rework to make the game less disorienting. I've thought of some solutions, but the level layout will be changed. The spiders' hitboxes are, unfortunately, kinda broken and I'm still trying to figure out how to fix them.

I will look into it. Hopefully, the post-jam version will have these problems solved!

Nice mechanics and a fun experience. Nice intro for the game also! Good job

A good plan indeed! This game knocked my socks off. I think you might have something worth developing further on your hands here.

Feedback:

-LOVED the looking around mechanic
- Found myself wishing there was some way to walk, like hold control and arrows. But I don't know. I guess that might have messed up the purity of the control scheme.
- Found myself wishing the level design gave a few more hints as to where to go. Especially in the beginning. One of those flashing arrows right near the start would have helped a bit
- Title screen knocked my socks off, set high expectations, which were met.

Thanks for the feedback! 👍

- "Found myself wishing there was some way to walk..."
I must admit, some jumps are a bit too difficult and force the player to make some really small jumps. I'll see what I can do.

- "Found myself wishing the level design gave a few more hints as to where to go..."
Now THAT will be an interesting challenge. First I'll have to take into consideration the resolution, since you cannot look too much ahead, even with the visor. As for the hints, I have some ideas: maybe some smaller flashing arrows will help.

I'll fix them in the post-jam version!

By the way, if you ever reach ANARCHID, tell me how hard did it knocked your socks off lol

Beware though, there will be some pretty tough jumps.
