Awesome variant of the snake game. Fun to play, cool graphics and fits the theme!
Unique evolution of the snake game! It's fun and a bit addictive for me! Keep it up!
Very good concept!I think it will be more interesting if you add more RPG elements into it.
Really like the game
cool way to play snake :)
I love the concept of this game so much, very creative spin on a snake game! My only complaint is that the controls do not feel responsive. This is because the characters slide smoothly, but they can only turn and travel on a grid, causing the character to look like it's turns are delayed. If you ditched the smooth sliding of the sprite and instead just made them teleport to the next grid square every X interval, the controls would feel perfectly tight. Alternatively you could ditch the grid instead.
Either way, really clever and fun game mashup!
So the game buffers the last input you until the point your character moves. That makes it doesn’t feel as responsive, so I get your criticism. Ran out of time to try to fix those controls to be honest.
I’m just glad I got rid of the ability to hit the arrow opposite the way you just came from (killing you instantly if you had 2+ Adventurers in your party). It made some of those tight turns where you want to quickly round a corner a lot safer. Thanks for your feedback!
You should definitely release an update for it after the Jam, I would love to play it some more with that improvement. I just noticed this was your first Jam submission (at least for your account), really impressive first go! Looking forward to your future works!
Fun take on snake. I don't know if it was cause I didn't get far enough into the game, but it would be great if the enemies required more hits to take them down.
I have the opposite experience: every enemy I face is stronger than what I can actually take on, so it's a streak of instant deaths.
Don’t run into the enemies, come up alongside of them. Ally units (“!”) you collide with, enemy units (angry face) you walk past to attack them.
I meant to get around to enemies with more health / more enemies spawning at a time / levels for game / possibly health for your units so they could be destroyed too, but it was 5am and I was passing out so I figured it was better to post the game before I missed the Jam deadline and get some sleep.
