Hello, today I downloaded the game. I tried to run the game but I could not succeed. Nothing happened after I double-clicked the exe file. (One Windows 7 computer and one Windows 11 computer)

Developer

you may need .NET 5

Hello...I see. However, someone of my family will not allow me to install .Net Framework 5.0 on the computer. So I will not be able to play this game.

Thanks for joining the jam and good luck!!!!

I love text adventures, but this one needs lots of improvement.

- The main text box had good contrast, but the choices at the bottom did not. A blue capital letter is very hard to see clearly against a dark grey background. I highly recommend this website that helps you pick the colors with the greatest contrast.

- Lots of empty space on the main text block.

- Hard to visualize where the character is in relation to the environment. Some sort of graphics or at the very least more descriptive narratives would have helped here.

- No sound effects or graphics.

- It wasn't very clear to me what the goal was.

- The inventory system and stat screen were nice additions.

- Being able to click on options with the mouse was a nice touch.

Overall I'd give this 2/5.

Nice concept. I'm especially pleased by the merchants that change their prices.

Most dialog boxes are rather empty and the bottom button row is crammed or overflowing. You could still tweak the layout a little bit.

Bugs:

  • Clicking a button does not always do something.
  • The load game dialog is not filtered :( .
  • Loading crashes the game. To be more precise: You have to enter a full file name (including .db extension), otherwise the dialog will not close. The game then appends the extension and opens another file. You can trick it into working if you create a file without extension and select that.

Hello,

The game is a choice-based interactive fiction? I am surprised.  Welcome!

We look forward to the final version of your game.
