  • Hey! This was a short and sweet entry. I really like the production values on the sprites, and I think the core gameplay was a good start, but needed a bit more depth to it. The very short music loop was luckily not too tiring on the ears, but I definitely would have appreciated a bit more setup with some story and more levels. I understand you were short on time, so I think you should be proud of what's here. It's a good start to a bigger project! Thanks for the game - Adam

I really like both the art style and the music. As others have pointed out, the camera feels kinda weird, I found myself having to stop waiting for the camera to catch up sometimes.

Also, it isn't a big deal, but when moving diagonal up (either left or right) the character is looking down haha

It's quite entertaining, although kinda short. Maybe you could add some different types of divers that were more aggro or something, to add to the difficulty as well.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, camera is getting fixed. And thanks for pointing out the diagonal movement bug, definitely not a feature haha.

Glad you liked it despite it being short. I am doing post-jam development with all sorts of new stuff, including different types of divers.

Really like the artwork. The speed of the camera following you is a bit low, but the game has an interesting concept. I particularly love how the head is somehow detached from the body of the character (when you stop moving).

Thanks for playing and feedback! Glad you like the art.  The detachment between head and body is something I wanted to experiment with, and it seems to work all right. The camera will be getting adjustments in the future, for sure.

Like the concept, love the art. Never really felt like I was under any pressure or in real danger. I assume colliding with divers would have cost me a life but they were slow and predictable enough that it was always easy to avoid. When I was exploring I also found it pretty easy to outrun the camera and had to keep stopping short to avoid rushing off screen. But otherwise it was good. Controls felt responsive, and I liked the way the divers got inkier and inkier as you hit them to show their "health".

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! While the divers do hurt on contact I didn't really try to design any sense of imminent danger, rather I was going for a headstrong, "out of my lawn" attitude. I was planning on more aggressive divers as well for the future.  I agree the camera still needs tweaking to keep up with the player.

Very cute design! It plays really smooth and I also liked the Sounds.
