This is a cool idea for a platformer! The grapple mechanic is fun to use. I think some work could be done on the enemies. It took me a few tries to figure out that I had to land on them from above to kill them. Good job!

No one ever said it was gonna be easy to be a super hero :) Thanks!

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but I've never been the biggest fan of platformers. It was still fun to swing around though, and navigating the levels felt satisfying. I guess no matter the game I always like a good grappling hook of some sort.

The only major issues I have are that the game never tells you that all viruses need to be killed before exiting the level (like everyone else mentioned and you'll probably have fixed in the next update), and that sometimes it seemed like I was getting killed even though I was landing on enemies from the top or at least the top half of the side.  Maybe its just me but I would've expected a game where you're whipping around from all angles to be a bit more forgiving on this front. Like I said though I'm no platformer expert so maybe that's just how things are.

Overall though, not bad, only made it to the third level but I enjoyed what I played. Nice work!

Thank you!

Just to clarify the monster smash works like this: if Rubber Man hits a monster and at the same time is moving downwards the monster is smashed. So the point where you hit the monster does not matter. This is the standard way but of course it could be improved.

The third level is hard :)

Yeah the collision kinda makes sense when you explain it that way, I guess I'm just not used to approaching enemies at high speeds from all angles lol.

This is a good start for a game. Maybe you could make it clearer that you need to kill the enemies before you can finish the level by not showing the heart until all of the enemies are dead.

Developer

You are right, this should be made clear.  I think I need a tutorial. Thanks for playing!

Hi! Think I've encountered a bug - when I reach the heart at the end of the level I'm not able to progress to the next stage? If it's any help I'm playing in Chrome.

From what I've been able to play so far and from reading your devlog I'd say you've definitely done a good job with the physics, it felt really satisfying to zip around the level :)

Thanks! Good that you found this bug. Please try the game on Firefox if possible. It should work fine there.

Doesn't seem to work in Firefox either, strange - potentially an issue with my computer then if it's running fine for everyone else. Best of luck with the jam :)

Hi again - just read the other comment, and tried again, everything is working now I know to kill the enemies!

Good to know!
